Is Andre Ward outpointing Arthur Abraham just a foregone conclusion at this stage?

i think a straddle is in order here. with ward decision the most likly outcome but put a bit on abraham to ko ward. he still hits hard and i cant see ward clinching with arthur. if he does he'll get out muscled on the inside. abraham is a beast if he comes to fight!

People who rated AA highly prior to the start of the S-6 never bothered to analyze his opposition. Marco Rubio and David Lopez would be big steps up compared to most of Abraham's title defenses.

 

Not that much. Ward has not enough power to **** anybody at the top. He'll win easily though.

 

I think Ward is a very big favorite here and should win with a dominating performance. I think that speaks a lot of Ward though because Abraham, despite his last two performances, is still a good fighter. He does have that chance of landing something big and changing the fight. I don't think he does it and I really hope Ward looks to make a statement in this fight. If Ward decides to turn up the heat there is a chance he could stop Abraham. Ultimately, I think he'll play it safe more than risky and win a wide decision where Abraham doesn't win more than 2-3 rounds at best.

I would expect nothing different from the hapless Boo, who's been on the hate wagon for AA ever since his idol was ducking the dude. Notice how he denigrated the p4p #3, even AFTER his self-ownage-of-the-century thread about stretchers.

But you usually take a more balanced view of things.



At any rate, AA has had a couple of poor outings recently, but I'm not convinced that it's over for him just yet.

He hasn't been quite the same at 168 as at middle. I think that's maybe where he belongs, if he can make the weight.

As for the upcoming, the betting would have to be on Ward, with or without his billy-goat tactics.

Froch fought the perfect fight against Abraham. I believe AA felt that sooner or later, Froch would exchange, go for the KO. But it never happened.

Ward just needs to do the same and cruise to the finals.

But he might get greedy and go for the big display.

And that would seem to be Arthur's best chance.

 

Some questions remain to be answered from both these guys.

If for some reason Andre Ward elects to fight the way he did against Green & Bika, then it's gonna be a close fight.

If he truly boxes from the outside, it should be another wide UD.

In regards to Abraham, I think he just came out flat against Froch and it tore his confidence apart. If somehow he can get it back and open up a little more, he could very well surprize Ward and boxing fans, even with a close loss. Andre doesn't have too much power, isn't as busy as Froch and certainly doesn't have his freakish reach, so even if Ward's more athletic and smarter in the ring, I think Abraham can more easily impose his own style on Ward than on Froch.

It all depends what kind of Abraham shows up that night, just like what kind of plan Ward chooses to fight with.

Don't disregard Abraham just yet...

 

Yes it is a foregone conclussion that Ward will win. I noted before AA was beaten that he was a lazy fighter with limitations and that Froch would beat him and possibly expose him as a hype job, I also questioned AAs power when he is taken the distance by a WW that Mosely blasted out. AA was made into a monster by American Super 6 promotion and hype.
I wouldnt be shocked if AA after complaining of Wards dirty tactics goes back to his corner and doesnt come back out before the fight is over for a rare Ward inside the distance victory

 

I'm rather surprised that a few people here are even giving AA a puncher's chance at this point. IMO, Froch is top-class, so I don't follow the belief of "well, if Froch beat him easily ANYONE can beat him easily," but given both these guys' last 2 performances, yes I'd say it's a foregone conclusion, AA will lose via UD if not TKO.

Id say 80% chance Ward UD

10% chance Ward by RTD where Abe quits

10% AA KO Ward is there to be hit but its unlikely

 

46-0 has made some fantastic predictions which I have witnessed. In fact I have never seen 46-0 predict wrong.

The whole Super Six has been full of surprises, and unforseen events. I expect Ward to win a boring but wide UD, but this is boxing, and in boxing, **** happens.
