One fight doesn't put you at p4p#2, imo, and besides beating Pac, JMM hasn't really done anything in the past 4 years for me to have him that high, not to mention the vulnerability he has shown in some of those fights (getting dropped bad by Kat, getting whitewashed by Floyd)

If Marquez beats Bradley, I will put him ahead of Ward. But as of now, to me Ward ranks higher then Marquez. Based on what he does inside the ring, how dominant he is, and that I think overall, his wins outside of one opponent are better then JMM's in the last few years.

He could stay at 168 his entire career and he would still be a p4p fighter.

P4P doesn't mean how many weight classes you have been to. It means who is perceived as the best fighter, overall, if size didn't matter.

I like JMM he has been one of my favorite fighters for years, but he is not better than Ward. P4P top 5 should be for fighters who continuously show superior skills against different type fighters.

Watch Ward-Froch, starting from build up/trash talk to Sky's broadcast of the fight. Good stuff.

    P4P-concept is a marketing ploy..

    * I think his combined wins over the last 3 or 4 years is better then JMM's.

    * I think he is more dominant in those wins (against better opponents, save one) then Marquez is

    * I think what he is doing in the ring, performance wise, is better than what JMM does. Meaning, I think he is the better boxer/fighter, at this stage of their careers

    * I think that if they were the same size, Ward would beat Marquez.

Those are my reasons as to why I have Ward higher then Marquez.

    Ward's behind Floyd and Wlad.

And before you get bent out of shape, Ward's record against former or current top 10 rated fighters (in any division) is 7-0.

    Wlad's is 21-2.

Ward's a top 3 P4P fighter. Both he and Wlad are dominant, but Wlad's depth of resume gives him the edge even with being a heavyweight. What Andre's done is fine by any standard, but Wlad's career accomplishments are at a historic level.

The Heavyweight division is terrible. Ward was an underdog going into the tournament and made a clean sweep.

I see your point and I agree some. For me being Undefeated counts for something. Also Wladamir has quite a few journeyman in that 21 fights. ( top 10 ranked or not). but Wlad is very good and he will be an atg in the heavyweights for sure.

And I give Ward tons of props for that; being #3 P4P is far from an insult. In his own weightclass, Andre's one of the hardest fighters to beat in the sport.

It's not his fault he's been injured since then and hasn't been able to deepen up his resume much, but by the same token, I have to credit Wlad for fighting ranked competition more regularly over the course of his career. And, like Andre, rarely dropping a round to them. 168 is more competitive than Heavyweight, but Andre still needs to rack up some more wins before I'd have him leapfrog Wlad.

What Andre could do as far as dominating his division with an iron fist for years, Wlad has done and is doing. Getting to the top of the mountain's just half the battle.

To put it in perspective, the last time Wlad lost was 8 months before Andre turned pro. Wlad won the title when Andre was 8-0. His "career" from when Andre turned pro is 17-0 (13), with every single fight but 1 being a title fight or title eliminator.

he almost clean up a weak division, he did ducked Bute when he was undefeated. He never fights undefeated fighters, he never fights outside his comfort zone. The division is so weak that no elite smw can win in his opponent backyard, point proven again and again by Froch (lost to Kessler in Denmark and to Ward in US), Kessler (who lost to Ward in jOakland and to Froch in England) Bute (lost to Froch in England) Dirrell(lost to Froch in England) Abraham (lost to Ward and Dirrell in US) and so on.
so yeah,Ward has done nothing so far, beating elite smw fighters home comes with the territory. everyone at smw is doing it, Ward will lose if he'll ever travel to an elite opponent's home.
Warddke should be ranked #2 p4p if there is a p4p ranking exclusively for stay at home cooks who dehydrate mummies in order to ko them. Or in p4p duck ranking, obviously after Mayweather.

Its all opinion aint it? He is undoubted no. 1 SMW but has hardly fought in 3 years, hardly fights outside Oakland and never out the states, so will not fight Froch in London. Also uses the head a bit. No. 2 probably not, but he isnt losing anytime soon.
