Is Andre Ward the best P4P clincher in boxing right now?

Yeah I think Ward is the best in the sport at clinching, he even outshines Hopkins in the clinching department.

Ward doesn't have the luxury of being able to take a shot like BHOP.

Grabimir does plenty of clinching. Don't criticize Ward for holding and give Wladimir a pass.

 

Wlad's fight against Povetkin cemented his spot as p4p ATG GOAT clincher.

 

Ruiz & Wlad 3.0 are experienced Volume Clinchers, Andre Ward is a counter Clincher.

 

I forgot about Wladimir, oops. Yeah I'd rank Wlad ahead of Ward. So my list would be:

Wlad 1.0 was the exciting fighter, who got KTFO sometimes but was very explosive

Wlad 2.0 was Emanuel Steward effort to replicate Lennox Lewis

Wlad 3.0 is the safest way to win, without Emanuel Steward (only this version evolved into a seasoned clincher)

 

Grabimir Clinchko is #1 clincher. Ward is #3, just after BHop. Honorable mentions to Richard Abril.
