Is Andre Ward v Kovalev (175) the best fight to be made in boxing right now?

Though those are a lot a great match-ups you list, I would still love to see the Ward-Kovalev fight. Ward has the speed, Kovalev the power. Speed usually wins over power but you never know.

I would love to see all of the fights you have listed above. Matthysse-Maidana would be fireworks while it lasted and what an interesting fight Broner-Garcia would be. They're all good.

Ward takes Kovalev apart. All he has to do is avoid getting KO'd for 3 or 4 rounds and Kovalev is blowing out his ass. Ward is too good defensively.

True. Stevenson has been calling Ward out for a while now. Stevenson called out Ward on National TV, but Ward will not respond.............. think Stevenson would be Ward's biggest fight, but Ward will not fight him.

Kovalev has stamina, lots of it, much more power than Ward, better chin as well.................

I doubt that Kovalevs handlers would take that fight. Not enough money on the tabe as of now. I think they will try to keep his O intact for at least a year before taking on the best.

Kovalev wants to fight Stevenson ASAP. Ward will never fight Stevenson..........Ward is a natural 175 lb. boxer, but he finds a way to get down to 168, then go back up to almost cruiserweight. Kovalev will not come way down to 168. Stevenson said that if Ward is afraid to fight him at 175, then he will fight Ward at 168, yet Ward is too afraid, even with his personal referee, judges, boxing commission, commentators, everything has to go his way.

Question: Why was Ward the ONLY boxer to never have to travel when all the others did in the so-called tournament. Why did Ward keep Bute out of the tournament?

Yep, his handlers don´t want him to lose off course. As of now he has that myth of being an unbeatable monster on his side. Ward would take it away, so this fight won´t happen soon.

I think Stevenson-Kovalev is a foty candidate and it doesn't involve any weight jumping.

That is a fight that Kovalev wants, a fight that Ward refuses to take, not even at 168. Why won't Ward answer Stevenson?

Kovalev may want it, but his handlers won´t. His O would go when taking on Ward.

I agree with you point on Campillo . . . who I regard very highly more so than clev (and actually forgot he fought:patsch until after I made that post) and in that light would not consider Stevensons record as large a gap as I stated and I agree with you on there future op as well.

you are correct in you assessment of my definition of versatility. While Kov has a better AM record Superman has more tools in his tool belt to cause SOG problems. I think the difference in speed in quickness would be to great for Kov to overcome. I think Stevenson has the potential to actual hit Ward flush quite a bit more than Kov . . . this is key because neither guy can outbox him for 12 rounds. The key to beating ward is the ability to hit him with a punch he does not see coming . . . with Kov he would look like Neo from the Matrix.

    Good question.
If Kovalev could get down to SMW and fight in Wards home state it could happen. Not sure Ward will fight at LHW.
Ward would be in a good situation if he was to go for this fight because he would have it all to gain and little to lose
