No, Ruiz did not get all his fights in his home town!

I didn't think it was a bad fight. In fact, I was trying to get my girlfriend into boxing by showing her the five fights this passed weekend. We watched Ward vs. Bika last, and I expected her to be bored. She was really excited! (Not quite as excited as the Marquez vs. Katsidis fight)

Ward is a black american he can do whatever he wants clinching, headbutting etc, all those bad latinamericans are the ones to blame.

Not a fair comparison. Seems like the thread starter is using Ward to create an anti American rant.
If Ward can beat Johnson convincingly, then he's the real thing.

Ward is NOTHING like Hopkins. So shut up with that ****, it's an insult to Hard Nard. He's a Ruiz style hugger, the most boring active fighter on the world stage today.

andre ward is a much better/more fluid all round fighter than ruiz ever was or ever could be.

if ward was a heavy he would school ruiz with ease.

He aint no ruiz. Outlandish claims such as this r laughable just in the same way that he is top ten pound for pound at the moment. Boxers usually have to accomplish something first and ward hasn't yet. Being pretty unknown outside the states before the S6 and he has hardly been involved in the hardest route to the semis lol. So what has he done to warrant top 10 status so early in his career, especially since he hasn't even been outside of oakland? He may well beat froch if they collide in the final and froch may well beat him, is a close fight to call..

Maybe. How the **** would anyone know? The entire audience would be asleep after that huggy slow dance.

The fighting style of John Ruiz with the air miles of Sven Ottke, this should make for a rivetting career:roll:

Also :rofl @ people saying he's top 10 P4P. Froch has fought and beaten a far better quality of opposition.

Come on now. Ward is not a hugger, he's (of many things) an inside fighter.

With that said, Ruiz skills are underrated too, so anyone giving hard time for the 'outrage' of comparing the two should start understanding all the different styles of boxing. Ruiz was effective too at what he did and beat a bunch of good names.
