Its not like hes a gigantic size. He 6'6 and 240....which is about right. He doesnt weigh any more than Stiverne or Arreola who are both 6'2-3. Better to have muscle to carry you around than have to carry around fat.
6'6 240 would be make for an excellent pass rusher or TE. I suspect if he had any potential or talent, he would have been picked up in his teens by a hs coach, then led to an nfl scout. If he's that slow, it would make sense then?
Stb, in life I agree, but in fighting all that muscle makes you too tight and restricts your motion. When I was weight training I had difficulty shaving my head, now imagine punching lol
lol ok, yes though the point is tangential but is valid imo. Most guys with that physique in boxing don't have the talent because the guys that have that physique and have talent for sport are usually picked up earlier for more mainstream sports.
A heavyweight? In shape?! Heaven forbid!! I'd say it's actually an impossibility to get too muscular (as a HW) without taking some serious steroids. You literally hit a ceiling and unless you begin force feeding yourself 7000+ calories a day and cycling all kinds of roids, you'll just level off between maintaining/burning muscle mass. If anyone on here is into the whole body/physique building game, you'll recognize the name "Mike O'Hearn." He's about as big/bulky/ripped as someone could possibly get without ever taking steroids. If every heavyweight boxer dedicated themselves to the sport the way that guy does to body/physique building, the HW division wouldn't be the complete sack of bollox it is right now. In conclusion, well done to Joshua for having enough respect for the fans, the sport and himself to stay in shape!
He doesn't realize that he's going to be a much worse Frank Bruno. and yes he's obviously on something.
Nah Wlad can think about boxing the sh*t out of another Olympic medalist (Joshua) instead:think And Wladimir is more built than Joshua. Not sure what all the fuss is about.
