He looked that way vs Wlad. Just caught a massive slice of luck that Banks was on the matchroom payroll.
Robotic in the sense that he is like a Terminator, yes. Robotic in the sense of stiff movement, hell no, especially not for his size.
Not robotic, but he's not a fluid fighter at all. Tyson Fury is what you'd call fluid, at HW, Joshua, Wlad, are both rigid. Wilder is actually somewhat fluid, Based on their body types, Wlad and Joshua: uber muscular=not fluid Fury, no muscle tone at all but fluid, Wilder, lean muscle: fluid. Body types like Wlad and Joshua don't make for fluid movement.
I think that's great a assessment. I feel the same at times he's Brunoesque at others he's quite loose. I don't see him as really robotic, I think Wlad and Vitali could have been described as that, although once again Wlad has showed spells of great looseness, even against Joshua he was very light on his feet, and relaxed in there.
Very light on his feet, especially for a 17 stone plus man. I think he maybe tired himself out a bit with his movement a little too much early doors. He needed to conserve as much as possible and his movement although great was exaggerated sometimes. Wlad really wanted to prove himself against AJ, and he did imo
Brunoesque should go in the Oxford English Dictionary: 'Moving slowly forward in a predictable pattern. Slow but dangerous'.
What other sport is he amazing in? He certainly isn't amazing in boxing. Good, tough, but not amazing. Did he play rugby? Or some other sport? Just asking...I don't know his history.
I thought he was when he first turned over and there are times he looks a little robotic but there have been improvements. He is all about explosive power, he isn't going to be like Fury for example, but he can make more improvements with more lateral movement and a little more head movement and I'm sure they are working on it.
None that I know of from his youth but I do know he competed in track for a TV show soon after he'd won the Olympics and he was fast for man of 230llbs, which is roughly what he weighed at the time. Quick enough to impress actual sprinters. But you can tell via the eye-test alone that he's an incredible athlete, that kind of explosive speed from such a huge physique is highly unusual...
more robot than Mr Robot doing robot dancing at the Robot convention exhibition at the Science Museum.
I clicked yes. Although ive never been fully sure what being a "Robotic fighter" actually means. Why yes? Well it was closer to my cursor than no. Joshua,s size make him less fluid and his big muscles will be demanding alot of oxygen that his lungs are struggling to provide. I wouldnt say he was robotic he just cant move as freely as he maybe could if he was smaller. But his style is not robotic, he has his favoured straight 1,2 combo that he uses alot but he has a decent range of shots to choose from. He isnt a jab and grab set routine.
