Was AJ the most overrated champ of all-time in terms of not living up to his massive hype?

The massive hype you speak of must have been in Europe. Here in America, he just had regular levels of hyperbola spoken and written about him.

His only 32 so he could turn it around but imo he never was a Top 3 heavyweight. He got to 22-0 with no signature win bar a 42 year old Klit who was 18 months inactive following the Fury loss and AJ got knocked down LMAO.

I honestly think his a hypejob

Probably the 4th worst World Champion of recent times after Stiverne, Martin and Parker.

The modern day Danny Williams marketed as Ali by Eddie Hearn.

One of the worst CVs in boxing full of no hoper puddings and old men.

Olympic Gold and posterboy looks made him into a superstar, just unfortunate he doesn't actual have the ability to beat the Top 3 or 4 guys

If he looked like Fury he wouldn't be the megastar he is and that is fact.

I don’t think he’s overrated. He’s a great athlete, beat Wlad and I think he’d be a 50-50 fight with Fury if they fought today. I’d pick Fury but AJ would be his toughest victory (maybe tied with Klitchko). Fury beat Wilder three times. We get it, he can beat a one dimensional fighter with no boxing skills. I want to see Fury Usyk and Fury AJ before they hang it up. AJ isn’t an ATG but that’s a very high standard. He’s a top HW of his generation. I hear people bringing up the fat Andy fight. Don’t forget AJ crushed him in the rematch. He barely broke a sweat in that fight.

50-50 v Fury, your kidding yourself. Fury wins that every time.

I don't think he is, what I do think is the tribalism of boxing has had a ton of you rooting for his fall at every turn. He beat Wlad, ATG and got off the deck to do so. Fought pretty much everyone who was available outside of Wilder. Avenged his loss agaisnt Ruiz, and was soundly outboxed by Usyk. He was a decent champ, nothing more nothing less. Oh and one of the faces of your sport, so have a bit of respect for champ.

I honestly don't know why people rate the Wlad win. Wlad was 18 months inactive after getting soundly beat by Fury and AJ very almost lost it.

Considering the money he's banked going back to the hapless Charles Martin who was only a belt holder due to his vacant strap opponent blowing a knee, SBO hotdog defences vs fringe bums Molina and Breazeale, life and death encounter with a semi retired 41 y/o, ragged display vs Takam (a late stand in), snoozer vs Parker, schooled by a shot Povetkin who was ahead on cards until the gas ran dry, a shattered jaw in NY from fatty Ruiz (another late stand in), tepid rematch UD vs same even fatter Ruiz. Total x2 schoolings by 220lb Usyk. Yes he is a fraud. I didn't mention Pulev which is probably his one convincing career display.

Honestly, I would say Lennox Lewis. KOd by Rahman, McCall, outboxed and beat up by Mercer, was being outboxed by Bruno. His fans always fall back to defending his "head to head ability"with his resume, but his resume consists of old men (Holyfield/Tyson), unproven fighters (Vitali), poisoned fighters (Golota) and 5'9 plodders (Tua). When you already pretend like 37 year olds and 5'9 plodders are the peak of boxing, why not just be a Joshua fan?

The other day somebody cited a victory over Mike Weaver to evidence that he would beat Usyk. Yes, the Mike Weaver that was champion in 1980.

Glass jawed, no inside fighting game, and never beat a southpaw yet some people say he is the H2H GOAT.

Wow so many spastics in one thread...impressive.
Despite the complete nonsense on this forum Joshua although broken after the Vlad fight and later compounded by pudding still achieved a reasonable amount over a short period of time.
This is why the spastics have to put him down to elevate their own nuthuggery...
