Is Anthony Joshua the most overrated champion of all time?

Nahh... a lot of good boxers get hates a lot. But that begs the question, why the heck are anyone talking about Ward and Floyd at all?? They are retired.

 

I think success seems to breed hate. Floyd and Ward have not been retired that long so still in peoples minds. AJ and Canelo the cash cows todays get a lot of hate. Goes with the territory.

 

I think annoyance also breeds hatred or dislike. Everyone's "hatred" on this board is inconsistent as hell. I don't hate any boxers. I dislike Floyd, but hate? **** no....he doesn't get to live here.

Most overrated is Tyson Fury

He dominated one trick pony Wilder 3 times and all of a sudden he is an ATG

No need to hate. Why give someone power over your emotions.

 

He's definitely one of them. Most of his wins have been against guys over 35. He's 3-3 against top prime heavyweights of this era, and has some of the same names as Wilder's resume, which is universally considered subpar. His flaws have been very visible as a boxer.

 

AJ has 3 losses, Canelo has 2 yet they are still the biggest earners in the sport. What’s your point apart from your hatred of AJ? Try to make it objective if you can instead of poisonous hatred which says more about you.

Usyk was a millionaire AJ a multimillionaire has made Usyk a multimillionaire.

 

So Joshua paid Usyk to beat his ass and take his belts ?

A well thought out plan if you ask me. Usyk comes out the winner and magnitudes richer.

I don't rate Usyk or Fury as the H2H GOAT, but again, resume doesn't protect you in the ring. Usyk didn't get KOd twice by plodding fringe contenders, outboxed by a 10ish guy and has never been down six rounds in a fight. There would be no win over Tyson in 2002 in the ring to protect Lewis from Usyk, he'd only have his hands.

 

Then this shouldn't be a problem. He was great for a reason. He would take it to Usyk, jab to the body, hook to the body at mid/close range, run Usyks head into shots with his lead hand, sneak uppercuts in the clinches and properly manhandle him afterwards. Not to say Usyk wouldn't give him fits

Lewis's jab was longer and twice as potent as Joshuas. Lewis was a better inside fighter than Joshua. Lewis had a much better gas tank than Joshua, he mixed up his shots more, he had better better IQ, he set up shots behind the jab, counter more effectively and telegraphed his shots less.

Lewis also had better defense when he chose to be defensively responsible.

Over rated - By who? What statements about him imply he's over rated?

He fought the best opponents he could have possible fought,.

He tried to fight fury, but that didn't go ahead for no fault of AJ's. Wilder admitted he ducked AJ, and the idea that wilder is better than the likes of Wlad and Povetkin is unproven.

Wilder struggled with ****ing Ortiz for christ sake.

Very few people who are AJ fans have ever rated him as an ATG.

He's was a good boxer, but definitely not ATG level. He did a lot of good things for the sport in the UK where most of his fan base are.

I'm a big AJ fan but I never considering him an ATG. But I like him because his fights were rarely boring.

The reality is that besides Usyk, every single fighter at this level has a questionable resume, and so did Wlad and Vitali tbh.
