Anthony Joshua was in Central Park in NYC yesterday and no one seemed to notice him. In comparison Wilder visited the Uk and got crowds of people coming to see him. So who’s the global star? Just Wondering ‍♂️

I just hoped that this fight would of done better viewing to help the growth of boxing , I'm a AJ fan but kinda feel pretty sorry for Wilder and US boxing fans. General public of the US doesn't seem interested much in boxing, which if you asked any American 20 years ago they would of thought that an impossibility. I'm British and I just thought that the US was in a temporary slouch for boxing and would soon enough spring to life.

I'm just worried that because the fight did poorly in terms of views that interest from the US in boxing will completely fade and boxing becomes some obscure sport along with curling. Kinda makes the interest in boxers wanting to have big fights in the US redundant.

I still think New York or Atlanta or even somewhere new like Texas or one the mid-states would of been a better choice. LA is just the wrong town for boxing in my opinion , California strikes me as very anti-everything atm , this is coming from a complete outsider. Personalities like Wilder and Fury don't blend well in these places. I'd go far as to say that LA is probably the worse place in the US to go for hosting a mega-fight like this.

once Lewis took over the HW division, it started dying. Vitali Klitschko-Lewis was big because people wanted to see Lewis lose. then most quit caring in general.

Hearn was trying to manipulate Wilder to fighting AJ in the UK for money reasons, but now the tables have turned SURELY now it's AJ who needs to built HIS brand in the US

Doesn't matter. Fury is tapping that ass in summer and the HW division won't be coming back to America for a long long LONG time

I think most Americans just feel intimidated by AJ because of his stature, his looks and his fashion sense. Especially last one makes many Americans feel insecure because in times of the internet and exposure to European or Asian culture, they notice they lack behind in terms of fashion.

AJ may be boxing's biggest star since Mike Tyson but he is still not as popular as Michael Jackson, which is why you won't see crowds surrounding him as well.
