lmao. at least u can admit it. if they let that piece of **** who couldn't box his way out of wet paper bag into the hof...then tarver deserves to be there as well.
Stallone is in as a non-participant, for screenwriting. Not the first screenwriter to get into the IBHOF, although Budd Schulberg covered some boxing as a sportswriter. Non-participants are different than actual fighters. They even let Jose Suliaman in the IBHOF.
If he wasn't so inconsistent in career then maybe. Had too many rematches to win fights and a one hit wonder!
there is no possible way that Tarver is deserving of entering the hall. not a chance. although i have to admit, his little speech before the 2nd Jones fight was pretty damn good. made even more profound when he went and knocked Jones out with one shot in the second round.
That was Tarver's only moment really, but It was epic... When people remember back, they will remember him as the guy that knocked out Roy Jones, they won't really remember him as a great fighter.. Tarver's chapter in the book of greats would be quite short. He isn't hall of fame worthy IMO.
He was in a Rocky movie. That alone could get him in the HOF but also looking at his resume he beat a declining RJJ by KO which was an achievement for the time. He has won titles at Light Heavyweight, Cruiserweight, and it's not unthinkable that he could win a Heavyweight title if he has anything left. He's HOF material and whether or not he is first ballot or not will depend on how he does at heavyweight. So far he's doing pretty well and if he picks his fights carefully he can be a champ. He just has to stay away from Wlad or Deontay to have a chance.
