i think it's 50/50...(because he defeated overeem already). And it's not because he's physically bigger that it's gonna change anything. ( remember what happened in the gonzaga vs werdum rematch ? )

Of course , this isn't gonzaga...and overeem , (unlike gonzaga) is even more experienced. He learned from his mistakes. Still.... at this point , 50/50 as far as i'm concerned.

I would pick Werdum in a 5 round fight. Overeem is very big, and I'm aware of the fact that he may well catch Werdum for the knock out. Werdum's only been stopped once, and that's after chin butting a Dos Santos uppercut. He ducked into the shot, if that last sentence needs clarification. I think Werdum has a chance to withstand Werdum's striking for 2 rounds. After that, I think Overeem becomes much less of a threat.

Look at the physiques of a lot of mma fighters known for their stamina. Few of them are as lean as Overeem, or are at least lacking muscle definition. Even GSP seems to have softened slightly over the years. I think Overeem's added size may be a two edged sword.

If the fight with Werdum makes it to the 3rd, and Overeem runs out gas we'll know. I'm picking Overeem to win a decision, but I'm really wondering if he'll survive the 3rd.

I think us brits should claim Overeem as our own as our other prospects aren't so good at the moment. Was born in london after all... ;)

I see Overeem to win this in the 2nd round- he has improved leaps and bounds since losing to Werdum last time.

Agree Werdum has a great chance if he can survive into the third round, but that's a humungously difficult task

I think he has a chance. For all the plaudits Overeem gets the simple fact is that in MMA since he moved up to heavyweight in 2007 he hasn't beaten a single elite level fighter. Look at his record if you don't believe me. Granted he has done well in K-1 but K-1 isn't MMA.

I am picking Werdum, and my reasons are similar to those above. Also, as I have stated, Werdum has had one of the best resumes(if not the best) of any HW in the past few years, you just cannot look past him. Overeem has faced a lower standard of competion, and although he has dominated, is not used to being in close fights like this fight may very well be.

But yes, a KO by Reem is definitly possible.

    50/50 for me.

Werdum is a beast, Overeem has improved a lot.

    VERY interesting fight.

If it goes past 1 round, Werdums chances increase exponentially.

Although Overeem has looked incredible and has some ridiculous hype coming into this fight he has been fighting nothing but easy wins and washed up names for the past 3 years.

Werdum on the otherhand is coming off back to back wins against high level heavyweights, including what could only be called the biggest win in heavyweight MMA history.

I make it a 50/50 fight, put some money on Werdum because his odds are insanely long.

I would consider it an upset if he beat Reem. I don't expect him to stand much of a chance in the striking and I'd be suprised to see him takedown/physically bully Reem. Reem has to be out of position for one second and Werdum will slap something on him. Reem needs to be surgical but if he is wreckless, he'll lose.

If Overeem was to tag him clean with half those shots Werdum would be in deep deep ****...
