He knows he's finally fighting somebody on his level. Skill wise and celebrity wise. That's it. There is no trash talk to do. Also he's nearing the end of his career and wants to be in business post fighting. "Money May" is a character. That's not him. And he doesn't need to play that character to sell this fight. Also, he knows NOBODY ever wants to see that character again lol so I think he's gonna just ride out the end of his career as himself.
Trash talk is good for firing people up but really I think he's more concerned with legacy now and knows boxing aficionados everywhere are going to focus on the fight itself as opposed to the hype. Hype is fleeting, substance is timeless. And he knows.
To ease your disappointment. I think the real Floyd lays somewhere in between. Just like anyone. If someone came to you one day and said, for millions of dollars you have to completely over exaggerate one aspect of your personality to make people love you or hate you....what would you become?
F.u.c.k him And his demeanor !! He is getting well compensated for this fiasco !! Personally I hope he gets knocked the f out and retires so boxing can move on form this ******* :good
Move on? With who exactly? Are there so many greats with shining personalities waiting to take over?? Because I haven't been told about them...
Pac is sitting pretty right now. Why wouldn't he be grinning from ear to ear, when he's had two relatively recent losses (being put to sleep in one of them) and yet still managed to get this massive payday? All of the pressure is definitely on Floyd here. His demeanor was similar for other fights in his career, but this one is probably the one with the highest stakes.
Why do you think Floyd refused to fight Pac for 6 long years ?? Obviously, Floyd's has some doubts as to whether he can beat Pac.Plain and simple.
If you follow his career, he was very dull and charisma free coming up in the ranks and struggled to get a mainstream following. The whole arrogant and obnoxious act started as FMJ moved up the weights. No he just reverted to what he was at the start, the guy really is a pretty boring personality. Also there are plenty of two faced boxers out there, it's an entertainment business after all. I somehow doubt that Pacquiao is a perfect gent himself, it's just an act that is opposite of Mayweather's
I agree with you on that I wanted to see him being brash really causing some friction but it all seems too friendly to me even pac who ok doesnt trash talk kind of skirts questions and just speaks about gods will ect this build up would have been so much better with both camps trash talking but it just seems like roach is the only guy game for it EDIT - and I do believe floyd is not 100% confident of winning and is staying focused
you let Floyd fool you with all his trash talking, that wasn't really him... it was him trying to market himself in a certain way to generate $$$. Now that he has generated $$ and made himself, he has no reason to use trash talking and play the role of villain, trash talker, as shole, etc... btw, i never saw him as a 'dominant' guy, more like a control freak, who was a whining beotch who disrespected his dad and beat women. I wouldn't call this 'dominant'... but, some of it was acting, now i think he's showing his true self and has matured, he's 38. I also think he's being careful cause he's insecure about this fight. If you trash talk, you need to back it up because if you trash talk, act like an a$$ and lose, you will be stepped on. I personally don't mind it, fine with me. I think Roach is doing enough trash talking and there is some animosity between camps, you can feel it. Fight night will be electric.
Freddie is really the only one running his mouth. It is not a good look for him, as he wants Manny's camp to be the "the people's" camp. Mayweathers camps seems the more professional, which doesn't hurt Mayweather at all.
