If you want to call Zbik a champ for holding the "interim" title I guess.... Wouldn't that make Jr the interim champ now?

i'm not necessarily a fan. I respect the guy and think he brings excitement to the table. he has a fan friendly style that I think meshes well with other fighters in and around the division.

I'm becoming a reluctant fan, although he has not yet been tested against A-list opponents. I say give the guy a break. He could be living out his existance on daddy's money and banging hot chicks off the sweat of his father. Besides, it's not like his dad's resume doesn't have it's share of bums.

the guy is putting together an above average career despite what the naysayers believe. I think his name has been a gift and a curse.

its given him a platform to make alot of money, get protected- have a fan base-

but also its opened him up to a lot of scepticism and hate.

if he was a diaz and had no bloodlines of fame- and was having the same fight record- he d be considered an up and coming star, and be given the chance to develop without everybody wanting to see him get killed.

but i guess that criticism is fair game- if he s going to openly exploit his name for his profit- then he has to also be ready to deal with the ramifications of his nepotistic privelage.

i think however his game plan is to put together a typically mexican fight resume- with like 200 fights , with 190 of those against backyard bums. i dont mind the bums- but if so- he should really fight enough to make 200, get better and build a fight background that he missed out on with no amateur background. that being said though- being the son of a legend IS an amateur background- the guy grew up in gyms and rings, and has seen and been around more than any of us, indeed all of us combined. If he was going to make it- he woulda made it by now. i think he has the ability, but the most important gift is hunger- the most vital trait- and he dosent have it. i get the impression he boxes to pick up chicks and cos its easy given the opponents and oportunities skewed in his favour. he s arums 3rd or 4th biggest money maker- and he s done **** all. they ll milk this cow forever. no way will they ever put him in against martinez. they ll milk him the way they tried to milk that jewish kid that cotto circumcised. and then - when they realise he s ready to get taken out by anybody- put him against a big name so they can get a final payday and also give him a ceremonial sendoff, as well as elevating the other man with this guys name. The top rank "how to build, brand, break and make broke boxer" manual is so ****ing transparent and done to death, a well worn read.

Yeah, he's grown on me. A shame he's struggling to stay at the weight, because people will forever remember him for ducking Martinez.

hell no-he is very limited...he is being a ***** when it comes to Martinez IMO and that outweighs what he is doing in the ring right now.

I love and respect his father that much but concerning him, I would rather forget about boxing and turn into a table tennis fan.
