Is anyone else convinced that Joe Joyce can surprise and beat Daniel Dubois?

I'm favouring Joyce, but it's a dangerous fight for Joyce. Joyce starts slow, while Dubois starts fast and the 2 times I've seen Joyce stopped in the amateurs was when he was caught cold in the first round, so there's a definite risk he gets hit with a bomb early before he's fully warmed up.

But I think Joyce's greater variety, size, work rate, underrated jab and movement will be his key to victories. He'll have some rough moments early but he'll keep snapping Dubois head back with the jab, out work him, round after round, back him up more and more as the fight goes on and eventually will break him down and stop him.

of course he can, but I don't think he will

Joyce is a big boy with heavy hands and throws punches with bad intentions.

The bloke could beat anyone if he got lucky, but I don't think he's one of the 10 best fighters in the division

It's a 50/50 fight for me. I want Dubois to win but I fear Joyce is going to score an upset.

I'm going to be mocked into oblivion here, but I see shades of Joe Louis in the way Joe Joyce moves. Obviously, a poor man's Joe Louis, but still... I like JJ and think he will win

Yeah despite me picking him over Dubois I'm still not convinced he's legit top 10 material, for obvious reasons.

But then again I totally dismissed Carl Froch early as a pro because of his ugly style and total lack of defence despite his amateur success and he proved that you don't necessarily have to pass the eye test to be world class.

Lol what? I don't see it myself, Louis had a completely different stance, he moved differently too with the way he would slide his feet. They are both kind of methodical and walk guys down but that's the only similarity I see, from a technical perspective they are vastly different.

Joyce has the pedigree and the experience.

Dubious might struggle if he cant get a quick KO

People think Joyce is limited because he is a bit slow-witted but his success as a boxer is not a coincidence.

I'm skeptical Dubois will ever be at the highest level (not sure anyone is saying he will at this point), but he'll beat Joyce.

This is a 70-30 kind of fight for me, good for them taking on a little bit of risk anyway I can't bear to see more at least decent HWs beat down hapless opponents.

I'm so convinced from the moment this fight was announced, that I wouldn't remotely view it as a surprise. Joyce SHOULD be the favorite here.
