Is anyone else disgusted/confused/angry at the Bradley v Alexander ticket situation?

I just can't believe this. So few tickets sold and almost no promotion for one of the best fights that can be made at the moment.

If i lived in the area i would bring a crowd down... are there just no more boxing fans left?

Really disappointing. I can't believe people can say boxing is in a healthy condition at the moment

I have no reason to be angry, both are good fighters but just ain't popular. Ask a casual boxing fan who either are and they won't know.

Edit: Actually, I just ask my bird and she knows of Bradley, but that's due to me most probably.

I'm from England so I'm not sure about following over there. Most boxing fans (on here) seem to be mostly armchair supporters.

It was a dumb choice of location by the promoters. Neither fighter is that popular in the first place, and then you go and pick a location that isn't either one of their hometowns.

the silverdome is going to be set up to seat 7000
according to rafael, approx. 2000 tickets had been sold through last week... sounds like they will fill those seats

This is a classic reason Bradley ddnt want this fight to happen so soon. The fight hasnt been built like the major fight that it is. They shouldve did a 24/7 and had alot more promotion. Probably because Top Rand and Golden Boy not involed. Don King has lost his grip on making big events. I would agree you shouldve built this fight up the right way because putting them on the same card and calling each other out on national TV wouldve brought excitement to the fight. Location does suck but so does the promotion. Hope the fight is good though.

Wasnt impressed with Alexander vs Kotelnik but I think Bradley throws too many wide looping shots. I understand his vertical challenge but he needs to straighten out his punches. Those looping shots could be lowered to the mid-section but that opens him up for Alexanders best punch- the uppercut. Overall Alexander will probably take this because of size difference.

It's a terrible choice of locations. You have two guys who are popular in their homes going to fight outside of Detroit (inconveniently so) in a crappy stadium where no one cares and where no one wants to visit.

Ya all that 300 stuff appears to be incorrect. If they're up over the 2000 mark it's not too bad, they'll sell a good bit.

Nah, I don't agree. You build your name being in big fights. If these two guys put on a classic match-up then it will grow the name of both guys, even the loser. They're both young, there can be other fight and maybe rematches.

Khan/Mccloskey, if it ever happened, would pull in more ticket sales in the first 2 hours than Bradley/Alexander will probably do by January 29th.

That is a pretty big fail right there on the promoters' part.
