I Was Watching Shane Mosley's Greatest Hits (on demand) and completely forgot how exciting & funny Ricardo Mayorga is.... Although he isnt perfectly skill wise he always goes out there and puts his heart into it and makes it exciting for his fans...

im happy this will be my first championship ill see in person....

    ill be cheering mayorga

I'll watch it. can someone fill me in one Alfredo Angulo? never heard of him, pretty impressive of him to be taking on Mayorga after only 14 fights

Perfect step up for Angulo. I like his aggression and strength, he likes to go to war and has the tools to do it. With his defensive flaws, his chin needs to be as sturdy as his shown against recent opponents and for Mayorga to win, his best chance is to test it as often as possible leaving his own holes for a young, hungry, accurate guy to expose. Could go either way but Angulo would be favourite imo.

i'm kind of looking forward to it, just because i've been a mayorga fan for years. i hope he still has enough in him to catch angulo with something and put him on his back.

Young Mexican banger who's already racked up solid wins over Richar Gutierrez and Andrey Tsurkan. He is a little on the slow side, but seemingly has real power in both hands, and throws straight shots. He has defensive gaps, and has been stunned on two different occassions, but recovered remarkably quick ended both fights in the very same round he was buzzed in. He's also one of Antonio Margarito's chief sparring partners, and from what I hear, more than holds his own, and is one of the few who's able to spar more than a few rounds at a time with Tony.

Angulo vs. Cortes (check out the combination at 59 secs)
