Yes. I believe he had under 30 fights in the AMs? And he fought Jacobs and GGG and has only 13 fights? He didn't get a chance to develop and came close to beating them. There are pros who never fought anybody worth a damn for ages.
Damn. I forgot where I read that BS lol. Didn't double check. I knew it couldn't be right as he was too good and Ukranian's usually have tons of AM fights.
Bump. Huge respect to Derevyanchenko. Absolute warrior and tough SOB. I feel bad for him, the guy was at a physical disadvantage against Jacobs, GGG, and Charlo but still gave such a good account of himself. If he had a bigger frame, longer reach, and more power he would have much more success. He's too good of a fighter to not get a title. But it is what it is... The question now is what's next for Sergiy Derevyanchenko? Will he continue having any more chances of fighting for a title or will be be relegated to being a gatekeeper at this point? I really hope he gets his fair shake before he retires from the sport...
This guy could potentially have the scalps of Jacobs, GGG and Charlo hanging from his belt. His record is not a reflection of how much of a pitbull he is.
It’s been an hell of an effort from him. Wish he’d tried his luck at 154 after the Jacobs loss. Now I don’t think he’ll ever be the same after the 24 grueling rounds against GGG and Jermall within a year.
Bump. Another tough loss where he made a good account of himself. But man what a warrior he is. He always makes it a fight. Curious to know where he goes from here. Really not sure how much longer he has before all the tough battles takes a toll on his body. If there's anyone that deserves easy fights it's him.
