    Algieri seems to think he's a puncher now. Don't think it'll bode well for him if he tries to slug with Spence. Unless Spence's beard turns out to be soft that is.

    Errol Spence Jr. clearly is considered the puncher in his fight against Chris Algieri.

    Algieri still believes he’ll surprise Spence with his power once the bell rings to start their 12-round welterweight fight Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn (NBC; 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT). The former WBO super lightweight champion has just eight knockouts in 23 professional fights (35 percent), but much like Spence’s high knockout ratio (84 percent) Algieri considers those numbers deceiving.

    “I want him to feel my power early,” Algieri said before a press conference this week in Manhattan. “I’m not known as a power puncher, but I can hit. And anyone who’s been in the ring with me knows that. So I wanna make sure he knows that early.'

    Spence is going to beat Chris up. He will slow Chris down with his body work too.

    You can make some good bank if you've got conviction in your prediction. I considered it, but nah.

    Spence looks the genuine article to me. He may not have Manny's elite skills (even that's up for debate imo), but he's much bigger and stronger.

    I do suspect a certain level of mandible fragility. Just look at his matchmaking.
    That said, only time I've seen him wobbled was against errm a Ghanaian fellow some time back, and he got pretty much straight back to business.

    He's impressed me the few times I've seen him. You're right though he hasn't fought any punchers at all really. That said, Floyd tried to steer him in Thurman's direction to do his dirty washing for him and Thurman can definitely bang.

    Algieri can not be taken lightly by Spence because he isn't coming into this fight to be a test but to win. Having said that, I think that Spence has the tools to beat Algieri and bearing any unforeseen incidents he should prevail in this fight. I am not looking for a blowout but a knockout could happen in the process of the fight.
    Should be a good contest. Here's some interesting facts. Spence was born March 3rd and Agieri was born March 2nd. Spence is 5'9".5 and Agieri is 5'10". They both have a 72" reach.

    Not me. I think Chris will do well and make it a challenge for Spence but ultimately the youth, speed and power will give Spence the extra push he needs to pull out a clear decision.
