The only reason Plant deserves sympathy is because he is a huge underdog, and everything is stacked against him in this fight.

Why do we root for Plant? Canelo collected all belts separately from different opponents. Has Plant any effort for these belts? Nope. Then, he has no right for winning. This is Canelo's story and he gonna reach his victory.

Putting aside the uncommonly acute degree of political favor he enjoys (and I'm not even one of those guys who thinks he lost every close fight he was in), I have no beef with Canelo, enjoy watching the guy fight.

But, yeah, to a minor degree.

Billy Joe was doing a good job of boxing on even terms with Cinnamon — however much some may deny it — until everything was taken from him with one astutely timed, crushingly accurate counter.

It'd make things more interesting if Caleb could be similarly competitive, but hang in there 'til late instead of getting caught and quitting.

Its's just to motivate him. They know that Canelo is going to brutalize Caleb. Canelo is in his physical peak and it will take a really hard fight or two against a tough opponent to slow him down.

Love your profile picture of the legend our very own Uncle Azumah Nelson the boxing Professor himself . Canelo is a great fighter but he is far from unbeatable which is what people seem to think. Plant is the wrong guy at the wrong time for Canelo who is underrating him. I did not like him presenting Eddy Reynoso with his trainer of the year award at the final pre-fight press conference. If you want to do this plan to do it after the fight. I detect a lack of focus from Canelo while Plant is focussed on the job at hand. Canelo was also picking up his toddler daughter to carry her and give her cuddles at the same presser. I mean really!

Canelo doesn't underestimate Plant. Canelo has "one of the best camps ever" for Plant. He underestimates nor overestimates Plant. He prepared perfectly for any scenario. This is why he will win.

The last person he underestimated was Lara. He didn't even cut the ring very well and walked into Lara's punches without any defensive skills like an idiot. Still won.

I like Caleb Plant alot and im rooting for him to prove all the doubters wrong by giving Canelo his toughest fight since GGG. I BELIEVE HE CAN DO IT, AND IM PREDICTING ALOT OF POSTERS on this thread after the fight will give Plant his due, win lose or DRAW!

I don't really care for either of them but I'll probably be rooting for Canelo just because I feel if he wins his career path with be more interesting as he hopefully moves up and fights Beterbiev or Bivol and those matchups interest me more than anything Plant will likely go onto do.

Not interested in this fight, not gonna stay up til 4am and pay £20 to watch the guaranteed outcome of Canelo steamrolling another overmatched opponent

But if I want someone to win then I'd prefer Plant, purely for the Canelo fanboys' salt

    Shame it won't happen though

Dunno if Im rooting for Plant, but I'm not really much of a Canelo fan. Could be I'm massively underestimating Plant and he legit upsets Alvarez, even KOs him. I could easily get on the bandwagon. Hell, maybe they're well matched and we get a series of fights and a big shake up in and around that division. If they stirred up some sort of Barrera vs Morales kinda vibes both guys would gain stature in my eyes.

I probably won't know who I'm rooting for til' a few rounds into it. I just want to see a competitive fight with a goodly number of blows exchanged.

I didn't want to see this. I'm going to write it off as a comment taken out of context by a "journalist" for this fight. If he somehow gets the upset, hopefully it doesn't become a recurring theme.

I think it's actually healthy for the sport for Money fighters to lose. Everyone loves an underdog, and Plant is one hell of an underdog. I get why people don't like Canelo, but I get why people like Canelo, get me?

I'm very interested to see how Plant's style meshes with Canelo. I think they're great dance partners and this fight could become very dramatic in the second half if Canelo has been hitting air early. Hoping Plant wins, I guess. Maybe the result of the first Golovkin fight has left a bad taste Til This Day.
