Personally Im not feeling it... Bantamweight - Cruz v Faber. Uriah has lost his last 3 title shots, including his last one to Cruz Featherweight - Aldo v Koch. Erik's last win was Brookins nearly 8 months ago on a Fight Night undercard Lightweight - Henderson v Edgar. Another Frankie rematch, it's uninspiring imo as it's debatable if Frankie even won a round. It will be entertaining I guess, just too soon, better fights on the horizon for both men in a stacked division Welterweight - GSP v Condit, this one is on the shelf until GSP returns. Was quite excited until the Diaz fight made the Natural Born Killer lose some of his momentum with his safety 1st performance. The interim belt means nothing imo except for advertising purposes Middleweight - Anderson v Sonnen. Should be ok, Chael will lose again though. Be interesting to see if he can pull off a lay and pray decision...right? Light HW - Hendo has a punchers chance, Jones can be tagged with right hands. Probably the most exciting one on the list. But Hendo's gas tank is questionable and Jones last fight he used his reach knowledge to grind out a boring decision, granted the only fight of his you could call boring. But I doubt he'd take too many chances with Hendo if he was cautious against Evans Heavyweight - Mir gets is 4th shot after beating Cro Cop, Nog and Nelson...meh Convince me that these are fights worth staying up till 5 in the morning for :verysad
Two reasons: 1.) Chael getting ko'd is surely worth your time. 2.) Dan Henderson is the ****ing man! The other fights are meh...
Can't convince you ! Except maybe with this... Cruz Faber III = The most anticipated rematch in all UFC history Aldo VS Kock = One of the best domination a FW in the UFC history Henderson VS Edgar = Edgar finally get KTFO in the first time in UFC history GSP VS Condit = The most safety first fight in the UFC history Anderson VS Sonnen = The most satisfying KO of all UFC history Bones VS Hendo = ....TBH I'm don't have that many idea for the first time in UFC history, this is getting ****ion annoying... JDS VS Mir = Just **** it.... !
Im sure the undercards will make up for the meh factor of the main events though That was a good effort good But methinks you've been listening to to many Goldberg pre fights intros...
Me ? Listenning to Goldy ? Never... I'ts not because my precision hasn't be precise that I necessairly listen to Goldy all the time !!!
I think bar the gsp-condit fight all of them fights are worth staying up for. Cruz-faber : Will be a very close fight and if you've been watchin tuf you'll see the real animosity between the pair so thats def a grudge match I wouldn't wanna miss. Aldo-koch : Probably one of the most exciting guys to watch in mma why wouldn't you wanna watch him atsch Henderson-edgar II : Close first fight IMO between 2 high level guys. Can frankie out box him this time or take him down or will henderson use his size and wrestling to dictate the fight again? I thought the first fight was compelling not missing this Silva-Sonnen II : First fight was FOTY and the build up this time will be mental, enough said :good Jones-hendo : Dan henderson is fighting and thats all I need to know to stay up til 5am. Guy is a living legend :deal Dos santos-mir : Getting to see that ****ing ******ed smirk blown off frank mir's head once and for all :bokc
Im cool with it. Love Cruz vs Faber III - Its one of the best fights in MMA between 2 top 10 caliber p4p fighters who dont like each other and they need to settle the score after splitting meetings. Who cares if Faber has lost his last few title shots ? The last fight with Cruz was very close and just about killed Brian Bowles in November. Edgar vs Henderson II - The first fight was a war and it was extremely close. I agree with those who dont like Edgar's whinning but he did deserve a rematch and why people are predicting Bendo to stop him blows my mind. Bendo isnt a finisher and Frankie is tougher then a 2 dollar steak. Sonnen vs Silva II - Maybe the most anticapted rematch in UFC history. Sonnen didnt look that great vs Bisping but who has besides Hendo's 1 punch ? Dont forget Sonnen beating the **** out of Silva for 23 minutes less then 2 years ago. Its the Spider's toughest fight and I cant wait. Plus gotta look forward to the crazy **** coming from Sonnen's mouth, Primetime would be awesome. Like Bones Jones vs Henderson - The only reason I dont love this fight is because Jones is practicually a guarantee to destroy everyone at 205. Jones is just so damn good with his reach, his balance, his technique, the grappling etc. You can never NEVER EVER count out Hendo though hes on a tear in the last couple of years and if that right hand lands then well he might just pull off the upset. If anyone can beat Jones its Hendo because of that power. JDS vs Mir - Same with Jones there arent many guys I feel like can give JDS a really tough fight at Heavyweight. Mir IMO is in for a stylistic nightmare because his wrestling is average and JDS has sick takedown defense and thats Mir's game is his submissions. Like Hendo though I cant count out Mir because if it does hit the great we know what he can do and he does have KO power on his feet. Dont Like GSP vs Condit - Not that Condit doesnt bring a tough fight for GSP possibly its just I dont care to see GSP fight these days his last good fight was what 4 years ago with Fitch ? Plus I feel like Condit isnt the true number 1 contender IMO he didnt beat Nick Diaz. Aldo vs Koch - Koch has KO power and ill never count anyone out but IMO its time to move Aldo up to 155. Aldo has struggled to make weight and hes basically cleaned the divison out of top guys Faber, Florian, Brown, Mendes etc hes just to damn good for the divison unless the bring down Frankie or someone like Pettis.
Did say I didnt want to watch him, I want to see him in a competitive fight not a work out until Frankie moves down, only interesting fight out there for Aldo imo There's no reason to think that this will go ANY different than the 1st fight. Plenty of options at welter for both men, more interesting than a re-run anyway Not interested in the build up, but a Silva win will be satisfying for multiple reasons. Again though, a guy who was considered a jobber at 185 since Ive been watching MMA is the most exciting contender... Dont disagree, but says alot when a former 40+ 185'er is the most interesting contender on the list Mir gets kodded...another re-hash of something Ive seen already :tired
Faber lost at 145 granted (to Brown and Aldo IIRC) but the Cruz fight was competitive, he's strong at bantam and just decimated Bowles, former champ and no.2 contender in the division. Will be another highly competitive tussle I expect. I prefer Faber, but Cruz Vs Barao is the most meaningful matchup to make in the division IMO, so will be pleased whoever wins.
As I've said in another thread, Koch is class but hasn't fought since when...last year against Brookins??? :huh He's not ready, odd for Silva to sacrifice such a top prospect. EDIT: If I'd read OP I'd known Winner of Zombie-Poirier Vs Aldo is fun. Also, Hioki Vs Aldo is THE fight to make IMO, Aldo would decimate Edgar IMO. With The Reem well and truly exposed, winner of Cormier-Barnett is the only fight I'd genuinely feel is a 50-50 for JDS. I'm hoping my prediction of Cormier beating Barnett, one more top contender, JDS, then Jon Jones comes true :tong I guess seeing whether Hendo can land a bomb is enough intrigue. But I don't want to see a hero of mine get pasted by Jones (which is what'll happen) Chael Vs Anderson is super intriguing. Was it the injury? Was it Chael using testosterone? Is Chael just a bad matchup for Silva? Can Silva take Sonnen out with a highlight reel finish on the feet? I'm leaning towards the first two hypotheticals both being a bit true: Silva KO1. That's closure, and as exciting a title fight (in theory) as you'll find outside of the rare 'what the **** will happen' 'super fights' you often see mooted. E.g about now the only thing for Silva that would excite me more at the mo' is Bones @ 205.
