Only one person has a legit shot at beating Andy or Jon, and until they fight no championship fight at either division will interest me

Only one person had a huge shot at beating JDS and we all know what happened there. Suppose the winner of Barnett Cormier will make for a great fight w Junior at HW, but until then.... :tired

Only one GSP fight really interested me, and that one flew away too

Apart from watching Henderson (on replay - the **** i'm staying up for that) got no interest in any of the other fights. Then again watching Mir getting his head bashed in is always fun. But i'm definitely not staying up for it.

 

Make Pickett Vs McDonald. If Cruz beats Faber and Barao, another interesting contender right away. If Barao wins, Pickett II is not that appealing, but Barao-McDonald? :yep

Not fussed about GSP-Condit. Bar GSP not being at his best physically or Condit actually trying to knock his block off and catching him, I see GSP dictating where this fight takes place and winning an easy decision. Still, there are other guys with good pedigrees who are going to test him as he goes further into his reign. Different levels and 4pz gloves?! Anything can happen. Hendricks (if he beats Kos) Ellenberger, Nick, Erick Silva...McDonald if something happens :hey

155: get Bendo-Frankie out of the way (Henderson, by domination) and then the division speaks for itself. A lot of fun.

Benavidez, McCall, Dodson, Mouse, are all well-rounded, quick and super talented. They'll have some good fights together IMO.

Whoever Anderson fights after Chael, they won't have run the gauntlet. Belcher, Palhares, Bisping, Boestch, Lombard, Stann, Munoz, Weidman, should all fight one of the winners after their next fight IMO. Then you've got another genuinely interesting fight for Silva. What say (don't read into it, random pick) Belcher beats Paul Harris and Bisping? That's better than getting a shot after just beating Palhares it Bisping just beating Boestch. None of the 185lbers have truly grabbed the shot yet IMO. Another fight is necessary.

Bader should've fought Gustaffson and not Machida IMO. Give the big Swede a wrestler that he isn't pally with (Phil Davis II) and give him one last test before he gets the inevitable shot at Jones before 'Bones' goes to Heavy. I don't see how Bader Vs Machida is doing much for the scene (Jones has already wasted Machida) and there is no one else for Alex G to fight in order to move him closer to Jones. Bader is coming off of Rampage.

Better still, of Lyoto is going in with a winner off the back of a loss why not Gustaffson? Maybe UFC don't see the Gustaffson-Jones fight is feasible so they're not fussed. I dunno', some seems strange as I can't think of anyone for him to fight, unless they'll feed Jackson to him for his final fight??? 205 is not particularly intriguing at the moment, and not just because it seems to have an infallible champion.

If Aldo continues to stay at 145, there are a few who will be able to engage him in a tear up, and don't forget, this is the sport where Matt Serra beat GSP Poirier/Zombie winner, Pearson, Siver, Hioki, are all interesting enough contenders. Obviously he'll step up to 155 eventually, but I'm still excited to see him cement himself as the first truly great 145lb mixed martial artist.

 

Obviously in the post above I'm being completely hypothetical...Erick Silva for instance, is a prospect.

Not at all. The Anderson/Sonnen fight will be sick obviously, however it turns out. But all the other ones are average.

 

Yeah, and Machida will beat Bader IMO.

If Bader were to overcome a lanky striker, then a title fight becomes more viable, but still, Bader isn't worth a push because of their third fight and the fact he lost to Tito, and then beat Brilz (meh) and this Rampage (sigh)

Gustaffson seems out in the cold now and neither Machida nor Bader do much for the progression of the division by beating each other.

Who else could Gustaffson fight, assuming he doesn't rematch Davis? Lil' Nog' with do NOTHING for him. In fact, it's that fight that Bader should've got, considering their first fight.

When Shogun was coming off a close loss to Hendo in a GOAT fight contender and gets Silva, and Machida gets destroyed and gets Bader, I don't see why Silva didn't go:

Bader-Nog II: both coming off wins. Close first fight.
Shogun-Gustaffson: Both dangerous strikers, a veteran versus a young contender
Machida Vs Silva II: Lovely jubbly.
