No, but if you can't appreciate legitimate skill then you're not a real boxing fan.

And as someone who likes to box for fun, it is cool to watch fighters and learn new things. :scaredas:

Not me. Ppls say he is versatile but I think he had the wrong gameplan against Bika. I think he could outbox Bika and also look better then he did....

Nope. That's why Ward, for all his many talents and accomplishments, will never be able to capture mainstream people's imagination...

Ward tried to appeal to the casual, he tried to knock Bika out early on in the fight loading up on single shots. That didn't work, and when he switched back to having a calm collected gameplan he did much better.

With his talent and skill, Ward does well for himself. He has a great attitude, shows heart in his fights, doesn't shy away from a challenge either. Boxing fans should be enthusiastic about Ward, apart from some of his more blatant tactics that showed their ugly head on saturday.

I thought last night's fight was very entertaining for the most part as well as his fight against Kessler. But the Miranda, Green, and a majority of his other fights werent. His style overall isnt a crowd pleasing one, he only just shown his killer instinct last night for the first time in a long time. I can appreciate the sweet science as much as the next person but if I had my choice of watching a Ward fight or a JMM fight Im choosing JMM everytime despite the opponent.

Ward has an interesting style in that he alters it according to who's in front of him. You want to blame anyone for the ugliness of his last fight, blame his opponent.

Ward just doesn't know how to finish or create space for hard KO punches. I definitely did see him hurt Bika last night though, some of the right hands in the later rounds and hooks in the early rounds staggered him and definitely had him on the defensive. If Ward can put those punches together he'll be a much more effective (and exciting) fighter.
