You may be right, or not. We will have to see. Personally, I have a hard time thinking of a guy who is a solid 220 and 6'2" being too small for a heavyweight, but maybe that's becoming the case.

The thing with these big dreadnoughts though, is that they can't sustain a fast pace.

What are these different methods? No baiting...I'm honestly curious.

    Also,
    Evander Holyfield.

Granted, these were two exceptionally talented smaller fighters, but it's still a valid point.

I like the look of Jennings (no homo)

He started boxing late, only had a handful of am fights & works a full time job as well! To be as far down the road as he is already says a lot about how talented he is.

Better overall understanding of exercises, more array of gym equipment (such as the cable machines available today, just far exceeds anything anyone from the old era had for being able to replicate particular activities), better science around measuring the effectiveness of training and how best to tailor make a training program, better nutrition, you name it, it's improved.

People in boxing are entirely blind to this point, because they think Bernard Hopkins and fighters like him exist because of old school training mentality - to be honest, Hopkins is very much one of the new school with his training regime, he alternates cable machines with pilates (whilst old, not commonly used in fighting until this era) and has a number of nutrition supplements he uses.

The other thing that people forget is that fights are now 1-3 months when you're coming up and 3-6 months once you're established, you have a hell of a lot more down time to train yourself up than you did in the older days.

So basically, fighters are becoming better conditioned, they're taller, much stronger, more agile, have better endurance - it's why there are so many fighters who now clock in at a lean 240 and can fight 12 full rounds.

Evander and Mike would have major issues in this era. Hell, Mike had major issues with tall fighters with good technique in his prime - and I stand by my point that Lennox in his prime would have clowned with Mike Tyson if he was focused and not doing a Rahman.

Every single sport has seen increased metrics from their athletes, yet somehow boxing fans don't realise this has happened equally as much, if not more in their sport

Yes, and Jennings and him are gonna fight for the unification then...

What can you expect from somebody who uses the Purrity-Wlad Klitschko fight as an argument to valid his delusional point. :-(

Here's a scoop for you, Jennings has got no punch and unless he has a secretly insane punch resistance, Mitchell would knock him out in 6.

Vitali is on his last legs now so that will be one half of the Klits gone. And Wlad will be leaving the division on his back within 1.5 years.

Tyson beat guys as tall as 6'6 and as heavy as 260. Prime Tyson would kill Lewis. Lewis didnt fight anyone within ten years of their prime. Lewis was beaten by 2 C level fighters when he was in his prime.

Evander Hoyfield beat the 6'5,240 pound Riddick Bowe. He beat the 6'4 260 pound monster punching George Foreman. Holyfield would kill Wlad,Vitali and and Fury and Pulev.
And Tyson had an easy time with tall fighters when he was in his prime.

Wlad was not green when he was KO'd by Brewster. He had like 35 fights already and was a world champion. Green? No. Beaten by better man on that night? yes. Fair and square.

    No you're way wrong.

    Top HW contenders/prospects:

    Eddie Chambers Height:6'1" Weight:215

    David Haye Height:6'3" Weight 218-222

Magomed Abdusalamov Height 6'3" Weight: 220-225

    Tomasz Adamek Height:6'2 Weight:218-225

    Denis Boytsov Height:6'0 Weight 225

    Alexander Povetkin Height:6'2 Weight:225-230

Odlanier Solis,Sam Peter are both around 6'0 tall.

    Seth Mitchell is 6'2

Johnathon Banks is a smaller framed HW also and he is also a contender.

The average sized HW is more likely around 6'2" 230.

Arreola was shorter than Adamek and Paul Williams. Arreola is more like 6'1 and a half. But height doesnt matter in a WEIGHT division.
