I am still holding out hope for Solis to become dedicated and to improve, as I think he's got it. If only he can build upon it.

Does anyone have any stock invested in Kevin Johnson?

I think he has a wicked jab and a load of talent. But I also think that he plays with his opponents a little too much and needs to take fighting a little more seriously. I have faith in his abilities to be a title holder someday hopefully soon.

Well IMO all of those guys except Solis (who i've seen a little of and he looks limited by size and work ethic) are better than the likes of Ruiz, Byrd, older rahman, peter, etc So yes they should improve the division over where it has been.

I hear that Oliver McCall is working on a fight with Hasim Rahman pretty soon here.... As far as "Ruiz & Byrd" go, BOTH can retire for good...

Cristobal's defence is atrocious, and when he meets a world class puncher, I don't think his chin will hold up. Very raw from what I have seen. Terrible conditioning as well. And something about the fact that just a short time ago he was a light heavyweight and looks as if he has only gained weight in chub bothers me. I think that will be a huge factor in how his career pans out. Povetkin has a lot of talent, but is susceptible to the right hand, which is Klitchsko's money punch, so that will be interesting come their fight. I still see him making a lot of noise in the division though. Solis has a lot of talent, but I think that he has horrible training habits and shows up with a spare tire which can do him no good at world level. If he loses some weight, then he can make a big splash. Also, he needs to step up the level of competition. Gomez has a ton of talent with his fast hands and wonderful boxing ability. Time will tell if he can stand up to Vitali. I will be rooting for him.

I would like to see a matchup between these two. Although I am a fan of both and don't know who I would root for.

I see Chris Arreola as an ESPN type of fighter; not HBO material...

Are you the same Mr.Bill that has been posting comments on ESB for longer than I have even known about it. If so, why has it taken you this long to become a member of the forum and start posting things?:huh

I had high hopes for Chambers going into the Povetkin fight. He really let me down on that one. But since then he has done a good job of staying active, so I can still see him making a strong return and doing something noteworthy. As for Estrada, I haven't seen him fight, but from what I hear, he is nothing to write home about.

povetkin is a possible especially in germany and russia.

i dont know about arreola but if he was long lived i think its possible.

solis and gomez no IMO to laid back and neither have any charisma in the ring to bring in the punters as top of the bill fighters , even theough gomez is very talented, solis is a plodder.

but then again look at chad dawson v tarver.

2 big name fighters at light heavy, passing of the guard fight old vet v new kid on the block and what happened.

we got 1 man and his dog in attendence, and that was a guide dog who brought his owner into the wrong building.

I agree that Gomez is way to laid back and needs to take things a bit more seriously, but with his talent, I believe he can still go far even at this point in his career.

You can be a serious tool sometimes you know that? Gomez and Povetkin have not been fighting bums. Povetkin has defeated a former champ, a perennial contender, and a current top rated contender who was undefeated. Gomez put on a clinic against one of the most dangerous punchers in the division.

Arreola and Solis need to step it up.

To Mr BILL, the division is no where near as bad as people make it out to be, it is a tired old line.

Gomez and Povetkin have indeed been fighting good opponents. I agree that the division isn't as bad as people say, but still, it is pretty bad.
