Is Asian boxing monitored properly as it seems dangerous?

Making weight has a lot to do with it. Think fighters like a young Pacquiao really draining themselves to make weight, cannot be good for anyone, let alone a guy who is about to go in a ring and ply fight 12 gruelling rounds.

Pac is lucky he didn't die in the ring. He was falling over from hip shots. When he came to jump weight, he didn't move up a division, he moved up two!

That Sonsona kid is in a similar position; jumped up two divisions and still looked weak as ****. So weak he has people convinced that Vasquez Jr is top class.

Some of the things Muay Thai boxers do in this country are ridiculous.

For a local show one lad skipped off 9lbs of excess to make the weight with an hour to spare :-(

Thats where the bad habits in Thai boxing came from, Muay Thai. I guess the idea is just to make the lightest weight you possibly can and be the bigger man in the ring.

    Yeah, they do.

The funny thing is, they just do it.... and rarely think twice.

A mate of mine trains at the gym and sometimes does corner work, he says the lads hardly drink anything in the lead up, one lad turned up and the opponent refused to fight him on principle because he looked like a corpse :-(

This is why there is the argument against same day weigh ins, and rightly so in many ways, but on the flipside it just opens the system up to abuse, lose the weight slightly earlier and pile it back on overnight.

The board policy of check weigh-ins is pretty good, other commissions can learn a lot from it.

At Sonsona's last fight at SFlyW he did not sweat till the tenth round, I aint ever seen a guy that drained. I though he could keel over at any point.
