He's making money in there so he can play deluded to the public all he wants, in the end he's getting paid and that's all that matters. Surely deep down in his heart he knows he has no chance in the sport.

I think the Prizefighter format provides Audley with a sense of confidence that he sometimes lacks in longer fights. It's easier for him to relax in that type of match setting because he's done well fighting over the course of that distance in the past. Over the course of a longer distance...where his flaws are more likely to be revealed and to become a factor in the result...not so easy.

Either way, he's going to continue pursue his dream and speak at considerable length about the process. More to the point, many of us will continue to chart his progress in this latest attempt...

So maybe Audley isn't all that nuts after all. Maybe we're the crazy ones, in the end.

If he's mentally ill, deluded, a disgrace, a joke, or whatever you want to call him, then I dread to think what that makes people like us.

He is no more deluded than is Evander Holyfield....at least he doesn't have 11 children. Or maybe he does?

Deluded? The man is a European, British and two time prize fighter champion has a Olympic gold medal and is worth millions (2 million signing in fee) I'd say he's had a good career despite underachieving and freezing in most of his big fights!

The difference is that your starting to run will not result in a chance to take on Usain Bolt. Yours would be a delusion with no benefit.

In contrast, whilst the precise extent of Audley's ambitions might be unrealistic, his willingness to act on them just netted him £30k+. And, in the quagmire that is the current HW division, it isn't ridiculous to think he might as a result get a high profile fight - maybe have a short second career as a gatekeeper against those boxers jockeying for a piece of the post-K landscape.

Re Audley's mentality, I think his problem is that he is only deluded outside the ring. In the ring, he seems paralysed by the prospect of getting hurt. If he could delude himself whilst fighting - ignore / accept some of the consequences of getting countered (within reason - I'm not advocating complete recklessness) - he might let his hands go more and not look like a rabbit in the headlights.

Some will just never get it. You're wasting your time.

Thomas Edison tried supposedly thousands of times to create the light-bulb. He must have have been delusional!

He's a dreamer, he's doing no harm trying to achieve a lifelong goal, if you dont like it then dont watch him. The guy has determination and courage that most people can only dream of, he continues to pick himself off the floor to try and be all he can be.

:rofl:rofl:rofl at some people on here who argue against him being deluded while conceding he has NO chance of winning a world title but encouraging his self belief and implying he is right to continue. :rofl

You people are ****ing dangerous. I'm glad your not advising me :rofl.

I for one just don't want to have to go through this pitiful merry go round AGAIN where he gains a bit of confidence from prizefighter (for whatever the **** that's actually worth) to actually being given yet another chance :patsch and put into another big ish fight, where he will then freeze in the headlights and be knocked out in 60 secs AGAIN without even throwing a single punch AGAIN! Because that IS absolutely what is going to going to happen EACH and EVERY time until he either dies in the ring (heaven forbid) or he is physically stopped from boxing.

How can anyone feed into it? How can anyone listen? How can anyone watch?
For his poor wife's sake surely enough is enough. And if anyone actually commends or condones him.. Then YOU want YOUR testing too.

what testing is this? There are always naysayers and today they called haters. In boxing there are loads of them.

Basically his big shots have come against brits and given the abuse he gets I think he has genuinely held back. I'm convinced post vitali he has a shot at grabbing a strap. Thats not to say it happens but he does have the assets if he gets the mindset to use them.

It's good to dream. Also, it's good to be unrealistic in life. Seems like Audley has rustled your jimmies due to him putting the big V's up to the doubters.

    Some people just think differently.

Perhaps you should get a wife and get off the dole and worry about her instead of worrying about Audley. Whatever he is, he isn't a quitter.

Whether I believe he can win the world title is immaterial -- I didn't think a lot of guys who won world championships would do so.

Take the case of the obviously seriously mentally ill Abraham Lincoln, who had the audacity to run for president of the U.S. -- and become the greatest president in the history of the country -- after:

    - Losing his job and losing a race for state legislature
    - Failing in business
    - Having a nervous breakdown
    - Being defeated for speaker of the house
    - being defeated for nomination for congress
    - losing renomination after he finally was elected
    - being rejected for the lowly office of land officer
    - being defeated for the Senate
    - being defeated for nomination for Vice President
    - being defeated for the Senate

Guess he was too delusional to quit.

I hear that Churchill fellow had quite a few failures before he became the greatest leader in the history of the UK. Must have been a madman.

I hope when you are really up against it, you find the courage to shake off the defeats life has handed you and try again. That is what defines a person -- not how many times knocked down, but how many times one gets up.

I will, out of honest concern, point out that your emotional response to Audley winning a boxing tournament and believing that he still has a chance to become a world champion seems a bit obsessional. You say you can't stand it, that you think people who don't agree with you are dangerous. Please, please, seek some counseling. I fear you may be delusional and mentally ill.
