Trout was hand picked by Cotto.Trout should not be in the same area code as Cotto let alone the same ring.
True. But I think Trout is a far better athlete and a much better boxer than Foreman ever was. (Of course, this is speaking in retrospect, but I never got the Foreman hype.)
Trout hasnt exactly knocked dudes out left and right and he has two good legs just like Foreman did when the fight started. So yes Cotto will win.
That's a bit harsh. He's a world ranked paper titlist. Definitely worthy of the shot, and I give Cotto props for taking a difficult fight instead of just a soft touch that could bring a payday on name recognition (like Mayorga did for him).
To anyone doubting Trout...just remember this, he beat Delvin Rodriguez. And before that, Frank ****ing LoPorto. If you don't get it yet, what I'm saying is...fighting Cotto is actually a step down for Austin.
Yes, and he worked as a Pavlik sparring partner too. The sparring jobs and the fights with David Lopez and Delvyn Rodriguez are what I was referring to when I said Trout has spent a lot of time in the ring with guys who are a lot bigger and stronger than Cotto. I'm not sure what all that adds up to, but I do believe that some people may not be looking deep enough into Trout's background to assess him failry. The man was a high ranking contender and still had to work as a sparing partner to earn a living. He earned what he has, and I doubt he will give it up easily. I would be very suprised to see a Cotto/Jennings type fight even though some people seem to think that's what it will be.
Trout will shoot all of his milt by the 10th and everyone in press roe will agree that Cotto is the new 154lb champ again
Trout is a big sleeper, this fight is going to be much closer than most are saying or predicting. Trout has the size the reach and the boxing abilities to make this fight interesting. No surprise Cotto never takes the easy road, should have gone against K9 instead in my opinion.
