His hand speed is much better than Joyce’s and he’s more fluid with his punch selection. Having said that, Joyce was taking on much better fighters out of the gate. If anything Anderson got exposed. I do think Bakole has the raw tools to go far, he needs a good trainer and he needs to a fight quick. He has momentum he needs to capitalize.
Nah hes way better. I was one of the ones criticizing the Joyce hype. But the potential with Bakole is quite obvious, imo.
Funnily enough if these two fought I'd heavily favour Joyce even after his last performance. He's been fighting the better opposition.
Yeah I still favour Joyce. Bakole hits hard but I don't think he's on Zhang's level. I remember the sparring footage between Joyce and Bakole a while back, Joyce ploughing forward, looking significantly bigger, Bakole hits him flush knocking Joyce's headguard off and Joyce takes the shot like nothing had happened. I think Joyce outworks him and gasses him out forcing a stoppage.
Chisora's a bit better than Takam - always was and still is... But then Bakole beat Takam and Joyce lost a competitive bout to Chisora. Joyce wasn't exactly super convincing against Gash Ali either, and even Anderson is better than Kash. Joyce looks a spent force - he's done more overall without question... But he was also hyped really hard. Was Joyce better enough to be declined and still be a favourite here? I certainly wouldn't bet on it... But the fact it's a live question at all between sensible posters (including @Brighton bomber) shows how silly the hype Bakole's been getting is.
I think Bakole is a bigger puncher than Joyce but they both still have the issue of defense. And Bakole will be found wanting against bigger hitters like Zhang or Joshua. Joyce had a better resume though but he was still way too over hyped. Bakole is also starting to get over hyped aswell now, but I'm not falling for it he will get exposed just like Joyce did eventually hes too limited and his defense is too poor.
No. I think Bakole is pretty skilled and has good hand speed. He has visible power and not deceptive power. I think Joyce is an average heavyweight and Bakole is much better than average, but destroy Foreman or Usyk? Nah.
He has not proven he can beat a more agile, technical guy like prime Hunter. We have no clue if he's truly improved. Luckily for him, pretty much only Usyk (who is aging) fits that description. Hunter is past it. I would absolutely love Bakole vs Zhang.
Bakole stood there like a lunatic and egged Anderson to hit him back as hard as he could. Bakole blasted Anderson in response like a sadistic ******* which ended in a fifth round tko in Bakole’s favour. Anyone that can slip and move at distance will give Bakole problems.
I flip flopped on this fight multiple times before pulling the trigger on Anderson winning, then Anderson showed me why my first thought was correct. As far as Bakole being the new Joyce, He beat Anderson who I already rated him higher and have said constantly Anderson was rated too highly. Joyce, despite what he has become has some really good wins, far better than anything Bakole has. I think Bakole is a 2nd loss waiting to happen. Anderson's flaws were just to severe for him to take advantage
Foreman was a better finisher than Bakole is and more proven against far better opposition, I feel Bakole is more like the 90`s version of Foreman and Usyk would toy with him, but he keeps his distance more than Joyce who plods forwards and is always in punching range, Bakole`s long jab was a factor against the small er fighter with the shorter reach, but yes fans do seem to hype up huge guys for no reason at all.
Joyce is better combo puncher who has beaten Parker and Dubois, Bakole has not been tested at that level yet.
Joyce is not a better combo puncher lol. Bakole puts his punches together far better, his combos are way more fluid and more unpredictable than Joyce's.
No, he didn`t seem that quick to me he was able to catch Anderson because of his superior reach, he does have far more power than Joyce though.
