I am glad guys in the lighter divisions are getting more and more recognized. I myself am quite guilty of ignoring some of the really smaller guys and focusing more on middleweight and upwards. But these smaller men are marvelous fighters, especially the likes of Innoue and Bam, and i hope to see more of them.
Speaking of future P4P kings, Bam is an obvious candidate. I also think Opetaia is a major candidate if he can unify at cruiserweight and pick up just one belt at heavyweight. He doesn't even need to replicate Usyk - he just needs undisputed at 200 and one major belt at heavy IMO. He has time on his side.
Now that Inoue has signed with the Saudis, Turki should make it a priority to have those 3 fight each other before the opportunity passes. If they wait to make those fights something will go sideways. It always does. Strike while the iron is hot.
Bam is legit and a real talent who can make his way to the Top 5 P4P list at some point. P4P King is a stretch but not out of the realm of possibility.
I think it's inevitable, if he can someday beat Inoue. He's been putting on some great performances though lately and the skies the limit for him going foward.
These lighter weights are where the action is,,,and these fighters are what the sport is supposed to be about. Not the heavier weights where it takes an act of Congress to get them in the ring with each other.
He's good but I don't like when a fighters resume is filled with fighters that are shopworn or past their prime. I want to see Rodriguez beat a young fresh elite fighter in their prime before I really have an opinion on him.
He's a very good fighter, but it's hard to know where he falls on the P4P list until he fights Nakatani. His entire resume is filled with fighters who are way past their best. Edwards is an exception, but he's a featherfist. Nakatani can really test him and he can test Nakatani. The victor can really elevate themselves.
anyone cant tell he has elite level talent, wouldnt know anything about no p4p lists, lol. doesnt mean he can keep going up and be just as successful, everybodys genetics are different. but right now, at this weight, kids untouchable. i think he will be top 3 on every credible p4p list by the time he beats nakatani around this time next year. thats when bam-inoue becomes the biggest fight in boxing.
