MAB might be shot but nothing suggests it. Marquez, PAC etc can move up a weight and be highly touted but suddenly MAB isn't afforded the same thing. I think it's cos he lost two fights at 130 and beat two journeymen at 135. If he'd beaten Marquez then stepped up, he'd get the same love but boxing is often a what have you done for me lately sport. If anyone has given us great comebacks after being written off post Morales I, pre Morales III, post Pac, pre Hamed etc
Yes!...err....No! .... Wait a minute....I say, it should be Yes and No. Pac haters said MAB was shot in the first Pac fight while JMM fans say MAB was at his prime when JMM narrowly beat him 4 years later!atsch
if you ask the mexican fans who hate pac, they'll say mab has been shot even before pac beat him the first time. IMO, yes mab is now shot. but khan isnt anything special so a win over MAB could very well be the highlight of his career even if mab is shot. so if some mab fans say that khan won only because mab is shot, you can counter with "but khan aint special and he has a glass jaw" which would negate their excuse
MAB was shot CASA is no brainer that he is super ultra prime So what is there to talk about JMM's resume?! THANK goodness there was Juan D!?! Juan D knocks out PAC anytime if you ask JMM fans! If MAB wins he is still shot but it will prove that Khan is class B fighter the most! Khan wins?! Who cares EVERYBODY knows MAB is SHOT!
Way past his prime but still a credible opponent. I wonder who the three idiots that voted "Barrera is prime" are.
Amir is not in for an easy night come saturday, Barerra is not the same as he was 12 years ago, but experience still counts for something. I think Marco has the gas tank well juiced up for Amir and has done his homework, i just hope Freddie has got a few contingency plans well in place .. Amir can't rely on boxing him in straight lines, he has to use angles and make Barerra miss in order to use speed and ring sharps as his finest weapons.. Barrera is in the best shape i have seen him in a few years , i think he sees it as a great opportunity for him to leapfrog into the bigtime once more. Khan can't afford to lose, and Barerra is in many pockets of boxing press is heavily expected to win .. Its not a fight that i would have chosen , very brave matchmaking by Khans men..
I don't think he is a shot fighter. A little more than a little faded, but it is a good test on Khan. If Khan is what people think he should be he would beat Barrera. It is a good fight for Barrera.
Barrera is a miracle man! He was either past prime or completely shot in Pac-MAB I but was at his peak in JMM-MAB four years later!
