Being an Olympian still means something. Just not much in America because we haven't won jack in years.

That's little crazy IMO. I don't mind the headgear.. these guys are amateurs and they don't need to be taking the same risks as pros, but to hell with the scoring system. That thing is a bunch of garbage.

The amateur game has changed a lot. They no longer even throw combinations because of the push button scoring system. That is never going to gear them for the pro's.

Audley was cracking on then he messed around when he turned pro. This may sound crazy, but it is possible that he was shot, or at least past his peak by the time he got round to doing anything. Not saying he could have done anything mind... he was pretty skill full though, and at times showed real quality (just not often enough).

So how many people posting in this thread knew that in January there's a bunch of rule changes; including going back to 3x3 in rounds and that the scoring system is being redesigned and the rumor is that it will more resemble an electronic version of the clickers we use domestically in the US?

if you can follow the career path of ODLH why not! It was said he is worth 300MILLION USD! I don't know if it's accurate but one's thing is for sure.

1)He is the RICHEST BOXER ever!
2)He being a gold medalist in the Olympics and his business savy helped built his empire and wealth!

Good luck getting parents to allow their kids to box (which is when they need to start) without headgear in the amateurs.

Ask Raushee Warren if it's worth it to stay an amateur and I guarantee you he will say 'yes'. I guess what I'm wondering is what are you really asking?

Tsk tsk. That's where you're wrong. Winning isn't everything, sonny.

Lomachenko 's classy performance in the final was one of the most outstanding ones I ve seen within the last 20 years at the amateurs.

There are still no news whether he will turn pro or not!

His opponent in the olympic final Djelkir has turned pro with a French promoter in the meantime.Well,he has signed a pro contract with a French promoter.
Djelkir is an excellent fighter-a teak tough cookie who will go very far in the paid ranks, but he was no match for the classy Ukranian at the olympics.Lomachenko tought him a lesson in boxing.

Hatton was less successful because in parts at the amateurs they reward body shots,eh!

    :think Dont know,mate!

At the world championchip on Cuba he was knocked out by Braehmer in the very first round of their encounter. The judges had no time to reward his body shots:D
