Yours is an opinion I rate highly.

Ali is actually my favourite fighter but I think you're putting him too high, unless yours is a blend of achievement, résumé, H2H prowess, skill on film and some other measure.

I wouldn't argue with anyone that put Greb and Pep above Ali. Duran in the number 2 spot must be based on his on film skillset right?

I happen to think that Ike Williams, I handcuffed, is an absolute monster at LW and could be a bad fight for Duran. I'm increasingly starting to lean towards a position that Pernell could've made things difficult for him too and could see him beating Roberto.

Is there another fighter in history who performed so well, so many times, in such a strong division?

    There's your answer.

If I had to think about it a bit longer it might be slightly different, but I’d still have Duran and Ali no more than a place lower.

Ali because I think he’s the best heavyweight which is big and he overcame his loss of athleticism to still be great through sheer will and belief.

Duran because of his skills on film and I think he’s the no1 lightweight too. He’s also my favourite boxer so a bit of bias as well.
I don’t know about Williams, I think Benny actually has the best style to beat Duran but don’t think he would either.

His range is 6-12 IMO. He is locked below Fitzsimmons, Armstrong, Robinson, Greb and Langford only.

While I suspect you wouldn't go in on a full all and out list you may have a hunch on how you would rate say Uysk P4P?

Top 30 at least but I haven't really thought about it. I prefer to look at how good fighters are in the moment and compare their accomplishments, skills and H2H ability rather then only seeing their value in how they rank on an arbitrary list.

My feeling when it come to these lists is that as long as the right names are there, then the order itself matters less.

He’s definitely top 20 all time and will be somewhere in most top 10s but might miss out on others. Both viewpoints are credible, just as long as he is there somewhere in that top 20.

I’d say anywhere from 7-12 is most reasonable.
