In all seriousness suggesting that if Duran lasted the distance and lost all 15 rounds to Hagler would be an'astonishing achievement' was a very bad point.

He's in the top 50, definitely not top 30 though.

Way to save yourself. Just reiterate your opinions on one point when he calls you out for cherry-picking it. You're one hell of a debater.

    I stand by it.

Napoles steps up from Welter to fight an ATG Middle, gets smashed up, stopped.

Trinidad steps up from Welter to fight an ATG Middle, gets dominated, stopped.

Duran comes all the way up from Light to fight an ATG middle, hears the final bell. Even if he doesn't win a round he would need astonishing skill to do this.

In all seriosness, your point about Hopkins being a top 30 all time fighter without providing a list is lame.

Gomez is the only one I disagree with, perhaps Foreman as well.

I disagree, but we are going round in circles here. Hearns has multiple weight achievements and a marginally better resume, Hopkins dominated one weight, became an ATG there to a standard Hearns never reached at any weight, and was a more skilled fighter IMO. For me it's very close, but I believe Hopkins should rank slightly higher.

I recall you saying Whitaker was the tenth best fighter of all time.Isn't that worse than saying Hopkins is top 30.

Hopkins comfortably belongs in the same tier or grouping as Frazier, Marciano, Holyfield, Chavez, Hagler, Saddler, Dempsey, Ike Williams and Sanchez IMO.

I would have him above Foreman and Gomez.

I rate Whitaker #17. Ring Magazine had him ranked #10 of the last 80 years.

I didn't even comment on your Hopkins placing overall, I commented on your incorrect statement regarding his comparison to those fighters.

No doubt that he is above Sanchez and Holyfield aswell.Sanchez' resume is nowhere near as thick or impressive as Hopkins' is.Sanchez best win over Gomez was a closer fight than Hopkins-Trinidad and Gomez was also moving up in weight. At best those two wins are equal.

I agree. I have Hopkins over Sanchez and Holyfield too. And Hagler and Marciano.
