Have you even looked over Hopkins's resume? It really doesn't sound like it. Sanchez's resume, despite his short career, was very much on par with it.

And Holyfield's resume is about twice that of Hopkins's.

To answer Pacfan, I side with Hearns in that one.

I didn't create my list with tiers.

Did you read what I wrote at the top?

The list had no order or grouping whatsoever.

You are still the man PACFAN!

    Why thank you Dan.

However, there's no need. I did understand your list, I was merely saying to the others on the thread at the time that I believe Hopkins deserves to be considered one of that group. Good list. Good man. :good

    Agreed.

    Gomez ranks higher than Tito.

Azumah is better than DLH, Tarver and Pavlik.

Danny Lopez, Ruben Castillo and Roberto Castanon were all top guys at the time as well.

Well, I'm going to have to be in the minority and say that B-Hop is, at this stage, in my top 20. Roy Jones is no.20, and I rate B-Hop more than Jones.

I'd say Hopkins fits inside the top 30-40.

    Hey PACFAN, who ranks higher?

    Hopkins or Roy?

Sanchez vs Gomez may have been slightly closer (I give Wilfredo two rounds) but Sanchez destroyed Gomez. I mean, splattered him halfway through the ropes. Gomez might've been moving up in eight but went on to win titles in FW AND SFW (regardless of what people think of the Lockridge fight)

Sanchez beat some fantastic fighters, and I don't think people should 'overrate' him for dieing early. His record is decent for a whole career. The fact that he did it in such a short time and at such a young age justifies his position in most peoples ATG rankings.

I have him at no.11. I have B-Hop in my top 20 too. Past 30 I;m struggling, not with names but in justifying certain fighters over another.

If you check my 1st post on this thread, you'll see that I think the same.

I think Hopkins competition was better.

Whats the major reason Roy squeekes it?

Well, I have Sweet Pea no.5. Before anyone flames me, I'm not kidding. So, if you wish to flame me, flame on.

Arguello at 8. Hopkins in my top 20, but I'm not saying where (for though I usually allow flaming I don't want to literally be set on fire by a marauding group of ESBers lol)

    I've never read this before.

May I see your top 20 guys, in order?

    Talent/ability, h2h.

From 1994-96 the 168 version of Jones is the closest thing to an invincible fighter there has ever been IMO.
