Do you really think Pavlik will be "exposed" by other fighters at 160?

Abraham is the only one who has a decent chance against him at that weight, no?

Hopkins is one of a kind, Pavlik IS slow and pretty one-dimensional, but I don't think there are fighters at 160 who can fight him the way Bernard did, and with such success.

    Yep, magnificentdave said it right.

Still, I think this is his best win, considering the man is 43 years old and fought like he was around his 30s.

Turn back the clock? Oh yes he did.

I agree with you that at 43 this is Bhop best win against a "good" young opponent.

But even at 160 I think a Prime Trinidad beats Pavlik.
Call me what you want but Trinidad was a great fighter, Pavlik is not, as much as i loved the guy:bbb

The win over Trinidad was better IMO.

Tito was a superior operator, and actually threw some punches at Hopkins (unlike Pavlik).

If you didnt see that his chin is good, than you didnt have watch him vs the explosive puncher Berrio. Bute has a very good chin, he was never hurt, never at all.
If Froch stop Pascal, Im gonna stop calling him a bum which he isnt 'cause he is a pro whos fighting for a belt, but you get my point.

He will want to move up to Super Middle. A fight with Abraham will be tight, could go either way to be honest. But Pavlik could well get KOd. But at Super Middle he loses to Kessler, Froch and if Bute has a chin then him too.

the trinidad win still ranks higher. i also think the johnson shutout is one of his best wins. an argument can also be made for tarver. still pavlik has to be in his top 5 best wins.

No I didn't see that fight, I have always said if Bute has a solid chin then he will be the man at Super Middle. So if he indeed has then I would add him to the list of people who would comfortably beat Pavlik.

yeah, Bute would beat him 'cause he has the chin to deal with Pav power, and great movement on his feet + a very good workrate and offensive arsenal

In SuperMiddle he will have big problems no doubt.

But I believe he can rebound nicely and remain a king at 160. I'd love to see Pavlik/Abraham.

Yes he will be the main man at 160, it is a pretty weak division. But I agree I would love to see him against Abraham, both come to fight and it would be a great match no doubt.
I think Pavlik could beat Abraham with simple 1-2s, he has a decent jab and Abraham is not that great, but Pavlik could certainly be hurt by one shot and it would be a real pick em fight.

    Exactly my thoughts.

    :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Isn't it funny how things change when you move up at weight? At 160 he is king, at 168 he would have big trouble with the top dogs. He would have to do a lot more there than just throw 1-2s.

PS: I'm still waiting for someone to claim Williams would beat Pavlik. :D
