I believe Frazier was down 11 times in a 37 bout, 212 round, Pro Career.

 

Not if you take Foreman out of the equation.

 

Joe all but touched down against Bugner in 73.

 

He was dropped twice by Bonavena.

 

Oscar Bonavena dropped Joe Frazier twice in one round but was on the losing end of a highly controversial 10 round split decision on Sept 21 1966.

 

Dropped 11 times (8 by George) and got up every time ready to continue. A true warrior.

The first Bonavena first aside from the 2nd and last round I gave every round to Frazier which accounting for the two knockdowns in the 2nd makes it a very narrow Frazier victory.

I knew Frazier clinched to survive Bonavena, 3 kd would have meant that fight was over.
In his obviously very ghostwritten book-the language sounded nothing like Joe-i saw the passage describing his predicament. Said fighting Oscar was like "moving around a refrigerator".

Did not know it was quite so narrow overall-& he lost the last round?

 

There was that moment in the second round of their second fight, where Ali stunned him and had him hurt. Then the ref jumped in thinking the bell had rung, I believe?

 

Joe looked like he was on the way to kiss the cavass.

Suspect looking but I think it was innocent and Frazier recovered very well.

Ali kept stopping short of his strides and dropping rights it was very savvy of him.
