Imo Beterbiev is definitely better than Kovalev, he beat Kovalev twice in the ams, physically stronger and tougher, more disciplined, better stamina and most importantly mentally much stronger than the mentally-fragile Kovalev.

Bivol on the other hand I don’t know if he’s better than Prime Andre Ward. What you guys think?

Hard to say. Ward was a great fighter. Would be a nice match up.

He may be better, but Ward has way better resume than Bivol as of now. If Bivol beats King Arthur, the situation will change drastically. I don't think he will tho.

I think Bivol is. He does what he does better than anybody I have seen, super efficient. Ward was more a jack of all trades, looking to disrupt the other guy's game and looking for gaps. Bivol imposes his style on the other guy. Bivol also fights anybody anywhere with no BS and he fights clean. Ward on the other hand was famously dirty and probably should have had a few DQs to his name. Good luck getting him to leave Oakland without a crowbar and dynamite.

Better than a prime Kovalev is wild. I think the Pascal fights were the end of Kovs prime. No one has done Pascal like that. As much of a woman beating racist pos this guy was he was elite.

Probably, because he boxes by boxing rules.
Bivol would likely outbox the jaded Kov Ward beat in the second fight.
Prime Kov that fought Cleverly would probably KO them both.
Another clue is Bivol took the Canelo fight where as Ward actually didn't want that.

Canelo was still cherry picking blown up welterweights at 157 by the time ward retired.

Prime Kovalev was an absolute menace. The only reason he lost to Ward was because Ward got under his skin.
IMO, Ward earned the W in the first fight. But it could have easily gone to Kovalev. And Kovalev could have won the rematch, but I called it beforehand. I said that Ward is getting to him and got lambasted for it.
Well, Kovalev came out firing on all cylinders and not only did he gas himself out, he fought recklessly.

All of the Booze didn´t help either. And now Kovalev was in a position where he would only train during fight camps, this meant his physical capabilities diminished as did his conditioning.
He still was one of the better technical boxers and 175, but far removed from his prime.
A lot of people heavily criticize his performance vs Canelo, but I thought he fought a brilliant fight, considering his condition.

at what weight? 168 WARD did as much as anyone could have done at the time. Ward at 175 only fought kovalev really.

Depends on what you find more impressive

Fighter A who fights all over the world at the drop of a hat

Wins all their fights via clean boxing and the application of pure skill

On a level playing field or one heavily stacked against them in their opponent's backyards

Enters the ring with two legal weapons

With no home refs or judges when they fight on the road

    vs

Fighter B who categorically refuses to ever travel

To sign on the dotted line unless they have all the advantages that can be wangled in their favour

Or fight on a level playing field, let alone one stacked against them

Who wins their fights via fouling and cheating like crazy

Enters the ring with five weapons, three of which are illegal and uses their two legal ones to foul too

And uses their head as a battering ram and elbows to slice their opponent's face up

Uses their opponent's plums as two mini aqua bags

And whose primary form of defence is holding like an octopus all night

And has home refs, whether hometown, state or country, everytime they fight to turn a blind eye to it all and a scandalous amount of home judges

Take away the heavily stacked deck and incessant fouling and cheating and fighter B isn't half as good without it

    Right now I'm going Ward.

But if Bivol beats Beterbiev he gets the prize.
