Canelo challenged Bivol not the other way around. Even though it was "Bivol's" weight and his belt Canelo was the favorite...and there's a reason for that. Dude was on an absolute tear and Bivol humiliated and dominated. To make matters worse Bivol offered Canelo the rematch at 168 and Canelo refused lol. Bivol never cried about weights, like Ward, and Bivol did what had to be done to make great fights (Canelo, Beterbiev). Bivol's best win is better than any best win Ward ever had...and Ward refused to come out of retirement to fight Canelo, too. Bivol also has good wins in Barrera, Smith Jr., Pascal, and Arthur. Those wins are comparable to Kessler, Froch, Abraham, and drained to death Dawson. I'll take Bivol's career if I had to pick. He has no free wins like Ward in Kovalev 1. He has an exciting style not a foup-filled grappling style. And Bivol would win head-to-head.
I think Bivol is better at his one style than Ward is at any one style, but Ward is better at doing anything necessary to win (ring IQ) so far at least. So it's tough to choose for me. Going to give Ward the slight edge due to having proved his quality against better opposition, which at the end of the day is all you can go by. If Bivol beats Biev than I will put Bivol ahead. I rate Beterbiev higher than Kova.
Yep! It’s funny to see all the Ward clowns failing to admit Kov won that first fight hands down. Ward was a dirty feather fisted cheater. He scurried away from the sport rather than face guys like Bivol and Beterbiev. Ward was no dummy.
no one thought ward lost more than ward. watch him moping dejectedly until he hears the scores and realizes kovalev got one of the biggest shaft jobs outside of lewis-holyfield 1
Ward easily beat Froch in New Jersey, which is halfway between Froch's England and Ward's Oakland. AND I felt Ward lost to Kov in their 1st. However that is a moot point because Froch was at 168.
Bivol would box Wards ears off but Ward wouldn't fight anywhere but at home where , like Floyd, he knew he would never lose a decision as long as he was standing at the final bell. That was proven time & time again. Ward retired so he wouldn't be forced to fight Bivol or Beterbiev
No he didn't Get that right Kovalev easily won fight one but got the shaft. On fight 2 Kovalev should have won that when Ward got DQ'D for blatant continuous low blows that ref Tony Weekes blatantly ignored. especially that final barrage to Kov's testes that Weekes claimed was a legit TKO Both Ward & Weekes should have been banned for that disgusting performance
