This is definitely a card where you can't just go with last names or even just the name of the city.

Not a lot of effort put into promoting this one.

 

I think Andrade was a very highly touted amateur. Seems to have great respect within the boxing community. Cant get anyone very good to fight him. Unfortunate, too, as hes managed to achieve a high ranking for years on his quantity as opposed to quality. Like I said it seems as though he has the respect of boxers, trainers, and managers in the industry. Wish he had accepted a crazy lowball offer to fight a big name but that is assuming he ever got one. Oh well.

 

he got one to fight Jermell charlo for close to $250K back in the day.

He had originally agreed to it then His management advised him he should be getting more.
so he backed out unprofessionally & has been in boxing purgatory ever since.

I happen to believe Andrade is the best MW in the world with GGG being a semi retired almost 40 year old, and is the biggest to Canelo south of LHW.

But he definetly needs to do more. If he can’t get anyone good in the ring, he should at least be as active as possible. Quigley will be his 3rd fight in the last 2 years, he should be fighting 3 times a year instead. He should’ve and could’ve gotten Liam Williams out of there, but he just cruised after having the fight in the bag after the first half of the fight.

 

Good find and post. Somehow didnt remember that. Boy, he should have taken it. Taking a big L would have just set him up for opportunities anyway, possibly even better for him, as the "former titleholder opponent." I guess not really. But maybe... These guys have got to take the fights when they are there. Andrade vs. a Charlo in 2014 would have actually been pretty awesome.

 

Missed the live broadcast but I was looking forward to seeing Andrade fight. Really unfortunate for this guy that he can’t get better fights.

It’s not because he’s a horrible fighter. It’s due to his skill and being a legit MW in terms of size.

If he were really chinny or undersized, or a little less slick he would get better fights. Especially with the amount of cherry-picking in this sport that I love… like, damn who really wanted to see Munguia fight Rosado?
