Is Boxing In Better Hands With Pac as the P4P#1 Than it Was With Mayweather?

I agree with all of this. But boxing is certainly in better hands now with a fighter who is not only exciting, but fan friendly. These two elements bring in new fans. Floyd's demeanor alienated many people and made them resentful. Jmo.

There is a difference to me, and that is that Mayweather left bigger challenges in his own division (namely Cotto at 147lbs) to go above his weight (Oscar) and below his weight (Hatton) to take inferior fighters.

Hatton is a harder fight for Manny than anyone at 135lbs. If he is doing it just for the money, I'm happy he is doing it against better competition, whereas Mayweather did it with worse competition-- followed by degrading the fighter we all really wanted to see constantly which drove me crazy.

He wasn't selling huge #'s in PPVs before becoming the #1. In fact, if you look at both fighters pre P4P #1 ranking, I would bet that Manny has sold more. Now to be fair to Floyd, he became the #1 man younger in his career.

My point being though, lets see what Manny does with #'s before making this comparison.

Hatton is an either/or fight for Manny. He will either destroy Pacquiao or get destroyed. That has more to do with Hatton and how he looked in his last fight against a limited fighter.

There is enormous competition at 135 for Pacquiao right now IMO, with Guzman/Campbell and JMM/Casamayor coming up. Mayweather did leave better fights on the table than Manny would by moving up or down, but that is right now....if Manny moves up to fight Hatton and were to win, he too would be looking at DLH and therefore would be doing the same thing Mayweather did. We have a longer time span with which to criticize Mayweather. I am seeing the beginnings of that with Pacquiao too.

He may or he may not. We don't know a thing.

Furthermore, many people who bought the DLH Mayweather fight were very let down by it. It made immediate #'s (which seems to be your only criteria for who is better for boxing) but it left people hanging. In the long run, that isn't good for the sport.

Pacquiao isn't looking solely for money and protection as PBF or shall I say, Money.

Pacquiao, a good role model inside and outside the ring. Humble, classy and generous man...he's also fun and exciting to watch (when he's fighting)

Another perfect chance to drop a Uncle Roger Quote:
