My take? We can only guess rightnow.

PBF has been the #1 p4p for the last 2 years or so . . . but left with so many unanswered questions . . . Pac has been the #1 p4p for less than two weeks. While Pacquaio has openly declared he is willing to fight anybody . . . we need to see if it will happen.

I don't think he'll go up to 140 permanently . . . he's going up there only to fight Hatton. So if he fights all the belt holders at 135 and be succesful in unifying the titles . . . that's the time we can make judgement.

What was there top counter? Did you even READ what you agreed with? There was nothing but the ranting of a fan. I've asked you plenty of questions which you decided NOT to answer. Maybe you can get off your high horse and address them.

Lenin and some of the other fanboys can only go by PPV buys. SO that makes DLH the best guy for boxing right? You fanboys can try to hide from that fact, as you've done. But with that logic you guys choose to use, it fits in just fine.

Besides insulting a bunch of people you don't know, your post is completely meaningless. Its basically the same pre-teen, overly defensive, pointless Floyd drivvle we have been hearing here for the last few years. How dare anyone think that someone esle may carry the torch of boxing better than Floyd? :-(

Manny speaks enough english to get by, and its what he does, not says, that turns fight fans on. He does his talking in the ring, just the way I like it.
Long live the new king. :deal

The Mayweather-De La Hoya fight hurt boxing as much as it helped. Newbie fans will probably never order another ppv again considering how boring that fight was.

I speak not one word of Tagalog and for some reason Pac oftentimes comes off as the more articulate of the two!

Exactly, among the many problems boxing has is that it has become a total cash crop (ppv) economic system. Mayweather did nothing to increase boxing's popularity he only used the sport for his own gain. Compared to guys like Leonard, Ali, Holyfield, who did their best to make the sport popular

In regards to people posting on the PPV buys. Heavy advertisement was put on Oscar-PBF as a superfight, they sold it and 2.1mil bought it. With all the reports from it afterwards, and those who watched the fight...how many were actually satisfied and would watch again? IMO alot less than if a superfight was advertised with Pac to the same extent, when he "tricks" fans into watching him, they stay as fans.

As for PPV buys, their about the same. Pac did 360k with Pac-Morales 3 with pac-MAB doing 350k. PBF-Gatti did 350k and 360k with Judah. Pac-JMM 2 did 500k. Of course that doesnt compare to PBF-DLH but that isnt saying much, ODLH can do more than 500k with sparring partners. The fight with Hatton did huge numbers but id be willing to bet if there was a 24/7 for Pac-Hatton, it would do equal or greater numbers.

PBF was IMO great for the sport, but not because he is a PPV sell out, or his character, just that boxing needs all the talent it can get a hold of. Not loose it to wrestling or UFC (unlikely to happen but you never know with PBF). Plus PBF to me was entertaining.

I don't really understand why people keep saying he doesn't speak English. He speaks fine and I never have a hard time understanding him. He doesn't have a sophisticated vocabulary but what he does have he uses very well, and his naturaly relaxed attitude helps him not make errors or get stuck.

I dare say that if the tables were turned and Floyd was the one whose English were being ridiculed, we would all be.... haters. :smooch

Even if it was the case, not speaking English didn't hurt Duran, Chavez, or Tito's popularity. Same w/ Morales or Barerra. Cotto's only now speaking English after fights.

 when all else fails resort to ad hominem attacks

I gave you my reasons why it was better when the P4P #1 title was held by floyd. you keep questinioning my posts but you you've yet to make a case for Pac. let me guess, you'll say something like " Pac fights exciting fights blah blah". Gatti had a lot of actioin packed fights, should he have been P4P #1? If Friday Ahunanya had alot of exciting fights, should he replace Wlad as the #1 heavyweight? :nut

    Void was, well, void!

Julio Ceasar Chavez knocked Roger Mayweather out two times, actually, a knockout early in their first fight and a brutal TKO in their rematch.

Go slap yourself moron. This has nothing to do with Floyd and everything I said was right. Get out and get some sun, actually talk to some people who dont follow the sport religiously about boxing. I have and I know what makes a marketable fighter you obviously dont. I could make the same case for Hatton being number 1, or Oscar, or Tyson, hell even Bernard Hopkins would be a more marketable fighter then Manny. I love many, but Im trying to lay some knowledge on you, some real world knowledge you cant seem to grasp. Americans want characters, they want guys they can relate too. The average person wont tune into to watch Countdown Margarito vs Cotto, two guys who cant speak english and have know personality, how many people would turn into to watch Floyd make an ass of himself or watch Roger same some silly **** though? On top of that, Floyd was a master boxer who never lost lol. With rappers, NBA owners, and Indy 500 drivers carrying his belts into the ring. Who does Manny have? Freddy Roach.

You people need to wake the **** up before boxing dies for good.

Yep he does his talking in the ring and sells 200,000 PPV's at the most. Outstanding for boxing, yep UFC will have no trouble matching that. :rofl

I just laugh at all yous. Manny wasnt 5 minutes out the ring and people were already talking about a fight with Mayweather. When you people admit Mayweather basically saved boxing (for the moment) and carried the sport on his shoulders the last 3 years, maybe some of that hatred will fade, however, you hating him was part of Mayweathers plan wasnt it?
