I think when you leave it to a decision you will usually find that usually at least one of the judges is way offfff in their scoring.

Bigger names get decisions in close fights so they can go on and fight in money spinning superfights - makes sense.

Is it rigged- i voted yes because way too often there is bizarre scoring usually helping the "draw" win the close decisions

You need one more option, sometimes. Boxing can be "rigged" if it goes to decision. Sometimes even with long counts and BS. Still I think it is honest more often than not. Can't fake a stoppage.

those fights were close fights that Cotto did enough to win! After both fights you came away thinking Cotto is the better boxer/fighter

Boxing is, and always has been, rigged to some degree.

It is in a certain way.
I've learned to enjoy the fight and try not to focus too much on the result.
    Bad part of that sport.

My opinion: The vast majority of the time, no. Occasionally, yes. :bbb

Yes and it is annoying. This is mostly why people have given up on the sport, i think .

I have had little to no confidence in Boxing judges since Leonard vs Hearns II. Where clearly Hearns was denied the win even though he had earned it.

Boxing fans needs to adopt the soccer fan mentality. We will tear this stadium down if you rob our fighter :thumbsup Enough with this gift giving in major fights. ****in rush the judges {Whip their asses} and start tearing up the damn stadium\Casino a couple times and I'll bet anything that those judges will start scoring fights like they should.

Right now judges know they can score the fights anyway the payola causes them to, with no retribution. Threat of punishment is what's needed in boxing.

All we need is 100 soccer\boxing fans per fight for a year and things will change.:deal

Some verdicts can seem way off but i dont know about rigged, just poor judging or a strange view of what should score points.Fights like Ali v Liston 2 seem more like fix ups where one guy just seems to throw the fight.

There are several things that can influence the way a judge or a fan scores a fight. As a fan, if you listen to the commentary (which most of the times is bias) you might be inluenced by the commentators. If you score a close fight on mute after the initial fight and try your best not to be bias (its only natural to be bias) I bet you might change at least two of the rounds on your score card (enough to create some controversy)

As a judge scoring a fight in an arena where the crowd heavily favors one fighter. I'd assume that it would be hard to score due to the cheering of the crowd. If you hear the crowd in those fights; when the house fighter throws combinations, EVEN IF HE DOESN'T CONNECT, the crowd goes wild. I think that can influence a judge.
