After the ward 1 fight they put up cards from the media and had as many ones with ward winning than kovalev winning despite like 80% of the media having kovalev winning. It Was the same on the wiki page of the fight On the canelo GGG one, they dont put up any cards (probably because they can't find any for canelo bar de LA hoyas and Byrd) say that bryds card was off but the other two were OK! And give the punch stats and then have q statement from canelo saying he thought he won 8 rounds to four. Same on the wiki page. It always makes me feel like boxrec and Wikipedia try to whitewash and hide certain robberies, these are the two places fans in years to come will look to come and find out what happened that night if they didnt see the fight and this is what they will be greeted with. I know there is a political tint to boxrec about the Ukrainians and Russians but if they was to be seen as objective they need to clean up their act as I feel they contribute to nothing been done about corruption in the sport
The Russia hysteria is absurd right now... The same liberals who attacked McCarthy for years(mocked him with the pejorative term McCarthyism) he was proven largely to be correct in his accusations, but there's absolutely zero evidence for Russian collusion in the election. Val Jones told the truth in a secretly recorded conversation with a project veritas reporter - "Russia angle in a nothing burger" Indeed it is. I don't know about Boxrec... More likely to do with their recent updates, but the whole Russian cards being left out is quite the coincidence.
I noticed that as well, I check that site for their summary of a big fight after it's over for a compilation of opinions regarding said fight. It seemed to me they tried to downplay the robbery of Ward Kovalev 1. And so far they have not put up a list of the expert opinions and scores of this fight - only noting this was a close fight aside from Byrd's score. I'll give them more time fight just concluded and I'll reserve judgement until I see more evidence of bias but I did find their coverage so to speak lacking in these matchups.
So you are crying some sort of "ISM" about boxing's judging of a certain sect of fighters? Wow!! I remember a whole bunch of you calling urban fighters over exaggerating actors and whiners but holy lord, we need to get Trump in here to clean up boxrec because they won't throw the Soviets a bone. You guys are the real crybabies and actors. I told you this year was the year of the upsets and ever since Jan 1st you guys have been upset calling out conspiracies to favor fighters against other types of fighters. Last I checked everyone hated Ward except his corner team, family and BET ,but in accordance to BNF24 the US government has a entire covert team to make sure he wins...let me get a confederate flag for you to wipe your tears with. Canelo actually beat Golovkin and it was HIM that got jobbed by the judges last night. He was exposed more and more.
I just find it weird , borec are all about the facts but in the ward fight they selectively picked cards to have just as many ones with ward winning as they did kovalev, including a ridiculous 116-111 ward winning card by Paul smith(tbf they didnt have many to choose from) but no mention that like 80% of the press had kovalev winning. But they haven't put up the cards for GGG vs cane lo yet ( mainly because the only cards that had canelo winning were Oscars and Byrd's so they can't use this as a tactic to make the fight seem close). I just think its seriously misleading and they aren't trying to inform the fans of what really happened they are trying to change history.
Okay boxrec has a problem. In the description of the canelo fight they have 3 cards giving it to GGG, 2 having it a draw and one scoring it for canelo even though over 80% of card had GGG winning. No mentions of a robbery and they say that scoring the fight to canelo was completely reasonable. The Wikipedia page on this is even worse. No mention of a robbery at all. I think this shows just how bias boxrec is, they did the same thing for kovelev vs ward 1
Sorry, but boxrec is a database and should be used as such. I go there to find out about a boxer record and that's it. I don't read fight description or their pound per pound ranking.
