I don't think so... Beating a 40 year old Marquez who's only real achievement over his past few non prime years is being able to hang with pacman doesn't do it for me... He is very close though...the closest of this current generation of fighters. He just lacks finesse and power.
I don't agree. Look through Pac's Mayweather and Marquez's Elite careers.. Timmeh doesn't match it. It's really what Bradley does from this point onwards for the next 2 years that will decide such a thing. He could have at least unified 140 by beating Khan rather than fighting old man casamayor...
I'd say so. He'll be in the top 5 p4p now so i think that makes him elite for today. He's not elite in the grand scale of things though.
Man he has some good fighters on his resume ,2 weight champion and he's been on top for awhile that's elite only a few are were he's at.
The guy deserves all the credit. Not in the same league as Ward or Floyd, but still very very good. He made Marquez look very average. I had it 117-12 Bradley.
boxing fans are pathetic nowadays.in their minds nobody is elite anymore. in their minds boxing peaked 1910-1950 after that it's only downhill.nowadays it's lucky if we see ATG top 10000 fighters anymore.
Can't perform the way he did against Marquez if he wasn't elite. If Marquez' age was a major facor he would have clearly gassed and taken out, there's no way he would make it to the 12th if his age was the main factor in this fight. Fact is, Bradley fought the perfect style the counter puncher Marquez, he pretty much forced him to fight aggressive when Marquez isn't good aggressively as the Mayweather fight clearly proved. Bradley used ring intelligence in there and adapted according to his opponent's fight style, only an elite fighter is capable of doing so.
Well nobody really is at 140 and 147... Excluding Pac, Mayweather, Marquez (Who is about to retire) and now maybe Bradley... Why u mad?
I don't think so, at least not yet. While he beat Marquez he was very lucky against Pac and struggled against Provodnikov. Bradley is a better fighter than I thought he was, he was smart to not chase the skilled counter puncher in Marquez and showed a level of versatility to outbox Marquez I did not think he was capable of. He's not far off from being elite, he has earned a shot at Mayweather let's see how he performs against the very best. If he can be, even slightly competitive with Floyd then I think that's proof he is elite.
Jus watch his resume and see: Yes he is elite. Beat Miguel Vasquez who is a current IBF lightweight champ: Bradley nearly had a shutout against him. Junior Witter was a defending champ: Bradley won the worldtitle Beat Kendall Holt (WBO champ) to unify the titles. Beat Lamont Peterson who later became a champ. Beat Devon Alexander (WBC champ) to unify the titles. Beat legendary Manny Pacquiao. Yes very questionable decision but officially he did it. Beat legendary Juan Manuel Marquez. + Provodnikov, Abregu, shot Casamayor That is VERY good record.
He's not going to be competitive against Mayweather because of his fighting style. He needs power and activity against Mayweather to be competitive. He's going to be forced to try and box and that won't work for him. That fight will be a stylistic nightmare for him and it won't mean that Bradley isn't elite if he loses. Marquez was beaten one sidedly against Mayweather, it doesn't mean he wasn't elite for that performance either.
