For the amount of experience Bryant Jennings has he looked like a very experienced fighter against Szpilka.
Jennings is on the right path and I think he could develop in to a beltholder post-Wlad. I'd favor him pretty solidly over Wilder right now and, unless Ruiz Jr can get in shape, I think Bryant's got the most potential of the up and coming U.S. heavyweights. I don't see him getting past Wlad and Pulev may be a step too far up right now, but I'd like to see him against a vet like Cunningham or Thompson to get some more more experience.
Wlad ammassed 24 fights in his first two years of career. He was fighting once a month! If there's anyone that has been fast tracked, that's him.
Yeah, me too. When Duva had her claws in him, she was getting him 4 fights in a yr. Since he left KD/RP, he's had one fight. He was offered 100K to fight Adamek, and he woulda likely won that fight. He woulda skyrocketed up the rankings, and still had time to squeeze Szpilka in before his WBC eliminator.:think
Maybe the better boxer, but I don't think Jennings' chin is good enough to hold on against a brawler with the power of Arreola.
Artur Spilka is by no means a measuring stick, the guy is an irrelevant fighter, he's NOTHING. But, with all said, Bryant Jennings disposed of him easily, as he was supposed to, on to the next.
Szpilka is young and has a lot to learn. His defense has a lot to be desired but his offense and movement are pretty good. I wouldn't toss him just yet because he lost to Bryant Jennings. Bryant Jennings may have his day.
Good enough to beat Arreola, Wilder, Stiverne, Adamek etc....maybe. Good enough to beat a Top 5 heavy...no.
You ignore the fact that he fought for the WBO title in much less time than Wilder and less time than Jennings have been pros. Wilder has been a pro for 6 years. Jennings has been a pro for over 4 years now. Wladimir had been a pro for less than 4 years when he fought Chris Byrd for the title. And he was much younger than Wilder and Jennings are now, just age 24 when he fought Bryd.
