Hes like a poor mans Holyfield just with less speed, power, and fluidity. Hes better than Wilder fo sho.
Wilder will not go anywhere near Jennings, Perez, Wach, Ustinov, perhaps Christy Martin................
I think Jennings' progress in that amount of time has been staggering. He's basically fulfilling what Seth Mitchell was hoped and hyped to be (no offense to Mitchell, who gave it his best). He'd been flying under the radar compared to Seth for a variety of reasons, but that probably wasn't a bad thing since he could simply focus on getting better without the weight of being the next U.S. hope being on his shoulders. On a side note, it's easy to forget how long Wlad's been on top. While the others aren't nearly as new to the sport as Jennings, Wlad's last 4 opponents weren't even professionals the last time Wlad lost a fight. The guys on the horizon like Fury and Pulev didn't turn pro until Wlad was already champ. That's some serious longevity, but logic has to say one of the next generation is due to pull the upset at some point. If he keeps getting better, Jennings will have as good a shot as any of the others outside of Pulev.
The question should be is he tall enough He is as skilled as a heavyweight could come but I think hes just too small to compete with Wlad or Wilder but he should beat everyone else
If Jennings really started boxing in 2009, then that's very impressive. That's an amazing progress right there so it's obvious that he is a fast learner and gets better with each fight. The way he defeated Szpilka was very impressive considering his limited experience and lack of background, but he also showed some flaws in his game as well. I can't remember the fight in a great detail, but he lost some rounds because he he didn't measure the distance well, and didn't get away from some fairly predictable Szpilka's punches. Other than that he outclassed Szpilka and I'm glad that he got the stoppage. I have him as a slight favorite over Perez to win a decision. Perez is not a typical Cuban fighter, he isn't very fast and while he is accurate, he gets hit as well and I think that Jennings has a fair speed advantage over him. It's a fight that definitely needs to happen in order to answer some questions regarding both fighters' quality. As for the competition against the world class level opponents (Povetkin, Pulev, Haye), he is not ready for them and I wouldn't give him much chance. He's simply not on that level. As for the others, I would give him a decent chance depending on the opponent, but first let's see how he performs against Perez. I still haven't seen much of him, therefore can't tell any detailed thoughts, and this upcoming fight is definitely a much watch.
Perez will beat him if he is mentally over injuring abdusalamov, has too much experience and all round better boxer
Its Wlad longevity in my opinion that makes him an ATG. To reign that long in spite of competition takes great discipline. I don't like his style, but his dedication and determination have always been impressive.
Looks like we will not see Jennings beat Perez. Glazkov is a tougher opponent. This fight should be an excellent stepping stone to bigger and better things for the winner.
