I don’t come on the forums often, so apologies for not seeing the threads you mentioned ….and as I stated earlier several times, CRAWFORD HASNT FULLY DONE WHAT IM CRITICISING YET.

FYI, I don’t hate Crawford…I was sparring with Ricky burn’s prior to their fight (his biggest name prior to Spence).

 

I forget. When Floyd retired after the Berto fight, were people claiming he ducked Golovkin and Kovalev?

I believe tc has no business fighting beterbiev and bivol etc.

 

Yeah, Crawdad is ducking Usyk too and Fury, AJ, Wilder, all the HW guys! This is nonsense, like him or not, the boxing lesson he gave to old Canelo cemented his place in history. I don’t think he will actually retire but if he does, he leaves with a solid legacy as one of the best of his era. At least the best at his weight, whatever that means. Hard to pin a weight on a guy who starves down multiple classes and usually has a massive advantage on fight day. Still, he’s not alone and he was/is a damn tough guy.

 

He went straight up to 154 to fight an excellent fighter in Madrimov after clinically dispatching the other man at 147. Then he goes up the next two divisions and clearly decisions an ATG who was operating there for years. It’s actually a compliment asking if he’s now ducking the elites at light heavyweight.

 

I don't remember what was being discussed and I'm not going to back track for the sake of argument in the new year.

And in regards to what you said in this post........Ricky Burn is his biggest name prior to the fight according to who?.......He's accomplished and well respected in his homeland, but big name he was not. Amir Khan and Kell Brooks were bigger names than Ricky Burns...and a great deal American boxing fans didn't know much about those 2. So was an undefeated multi-division champion in Gamboa, who in my opinion was his biggest name being that Gamboa actually touched the The Ring p4p list prior to Crawford stopping him.

 

Probably because it's 40 pounds above the division he started his career in. What he did at 168 was very impressive. Why not finish on top.

He'd get weight bullied sticking around at SMW. Weight bullying is only fun if you're the one who should be fighting at a higher weight class.

Crawford has/had absolutely zero chance against BBB. Canelo could survive for 12 rounds, receive 12 rounds of incessant praise by dodgy commentators, and then get a dodgy scorecard to make these fights seem close.

Beterbiev would have beaten years out of Crawford's life, as he is a much bigger and stronger fighter. Canelo was able to stay at 168 fighting weak opposition for a few years due to corruption in the sport.

 

Bud did his fair share of ducking during his career, but avoiding BBB was not ducking, as they are just too big for him.

 

These red herring arguments need to stop. Don't focus on the technicality of the wording "didn't test himself". Crawford clearly took the path of least resistance throughout his career. He fought once a year for the past 5 years and cherrypicked. Even the overrated Canelo was nowhere near his best, which wasn't that high a bar anyway.
