why be a ****? burns fought a very good, hard puncher in a world title fight under massive pressure and he did it for 10 rounds with a BROKEN JAW, just think about that before you chat ****, not trying to be clever or even cause offence but come on, just think about it, forget about if you have beef with billy, hes gunna back his man 100% show the game and the fighters that leave it all out there for your entertainment a tad bit of respect, I like talking boxing with the fans but you just cant have a proper conversation anymore on here, too many know it alls, 10 ROUNDS WITH A BROKEN JAW, and the man that got him through to the final bell is the man you are trying to give stick to, see you later ESB its been fun while it lasted, imo ricky lost the fight, but when you show one ounce of his courage then mock his short comings, until then STFU
We respect Ricky and it was a very courageous performance I don't think anyone is doubting that but it looked like man against boy in there. It's not like Ricky came into the fight with a broken jaw,Raymundo Beltran broke it. When your trainer comes on forums and makes outlandish statements like that you gotta expect some sort of backlash.
Curtis, I have no issue with Burns. He showed the sort of heart Ortiz sadly lacks but Billy is full of ****. I desperately wanted Burns to win, but he was a clear loser in this fight and with a bit of humility Billy should have accepted that. Perhaps if Billy took off his rose-tinted glasses it would benefit Burns a lot more in the future? If he truly believes Burns was worthy of a draw he is doing himself and Ricky a massive disservice.
Great points made aboot Ricky fella, but his trainer makes it hard for him with his shite on here.Im sure 99.9% of posters on here respect Ricky, like yourself, for stepping into the ring and the jibes are towards Nelson who speaks some bona fida 100% plum. All credit to Burns for making the bell.
Would love burns to face Mitchell again let kev have another 2 fights b4 Xmas and then throw him in with burns again, I think burns is there for the taking
At this point there must be challengers chomping at the bit to face Burns, who is looking incredibly vulnerable.
I'm sick of people saying 'he showed heart' at the end of fights when somebody doesn't perform it's bollocks your totally right calling billy out for what he says if he doesn't like it get burns to start entering heart showing contests instead of boxing matches
He's not the best to come from his home area, never mind Scotland & the World. He IS good, very good. But for fighters from Scotland in an around his weight Jim Brady, Alex Lafferty (his area), and Jake Kilrain, welterweight... Scotland & the world, Elky Clark, Dan McGoldrick (his area), Benny Lynch, Bert Gilroy (his area), Jackie Paterson, Peter Keenan, Chic Calderwood (his area), Cowboy McCormack, Walter McGowan, Ken Buchanan and a good few more yet!!!
Solaris who is the best LW in the world ? in this fight Ricky was fighting with a broken jaw and it clearly affected his boxing game plan and performance i can imagine it must have been complete agony, i thought Beltran won the fight also but i think if Ricky did'nt have the injury he would have won the fight , Boxing is like everything confidence is required to produce your best form so of course Billy is goin to G up his man what boxing coach would'nt ? I would'nt say that Ricky is the best in the world but i wouldnt say any other boxer was , its about levels and on his day Ricky is as good as the elite level fighters.
For the record im a big fan of ricky burns the PERSON ,but not the boxer. hes a great lad ! but for me bar martinez at 130 , he has NEVER fought world class opposition , kastidis was a word class name , but was wayyy past it and lost his next fight on espn fnf to a journeyman from ghana , and retired. Beltran is far from world class , his biggest win was against a weight drained lundy , he got koed and dropped 3 times in 4 rounds by the guy tht martin gethin fought recently diaz , hes a solid operator , but miles away from elite . id fancy crawford gamboa shafikov abril and bogere to do a sound job on ricky ... but i think he has a chance against vazquez just based on styles , rickys engine and heart are undeniable , best of luck to him in the futute . On a side note , new age promoter eddie hearn takes a leaf out of the old mans eubank days !
