That's actually a mistake.I had more posts than that. No.Will you be my friend? Maybe I can teach you a bit about boxing and how to stop making a total clown of yourself? Maybe that way I won't read about you on other forums and be tempted to come over and show you up for the clown you clearly are. And my post count would be higher again if I hadn't stop posting here because it had become infested with cretins like you. Still waiting on an answer from yesterday flower.
You have to give the lad props for fighting with a broken jaw, how much that affected his performance and the result is open to question. Burns is strong and game but his defence is very porous. He gets involved in tear ups when he should be boxing. Burns is better at long range where his speed gives him an edge . Burns should have stayed in the centre of the ring and used his jab far more following it with the right . Burns does not have big time power he never at any stage noticeably hurt Beltran, who was visibly affecting him every time he landed his hook . Beltran is short of premier league class imo, but he is durable and has a very good left hook which he seemed to land whenever he wanted . I don't blame Burns for his incessant clinching , trying to protect his injury, but he was very fortunate to get away with it without having points deducted . Ricky wins on heart and agression, that is not enough he was clearly outclassed by his previous opponent and only won because the single area he was superior in, heart carried him through . Burns does not keep his hands up nor does he appear to listen to his corner much, he is too macho .Against Beltran he was "hooking with a hooker", not a smart move. Beltran is not hard to catch with the jab his head is upright with little movement, and Burns had little difficulty in finding it at long range where he was clearly the master, but he kept getting into close quarter stuff where he was not. Two very tough fights show he needs a rest, even more he needs to go back to the drawing board and address his leaky defence, and sloppy wide punching, otherwise he will not have a very long career. Give the lad credit for battling on when he was in great pain in a fight he clearly lost.
Nice little analysis,I was mystified to why Burns was trying to go to toe to toe with Beltran when all he needed to do was stay out of range and use his jab.I heard Billy Nelson talking a lot on here about how he was predicting a knock out, maybe Burns was believing in his own hype a little bit and was going for it.He's not a puncher and never was,I think knocking out Kevin Mitchell might have went to his head a little also.
PityTheFool is also on check hook boxing or boxrec, i was browsing on them both yesterday. So it's not just this website that is his life, it's others aswell. Proper internet geek. Single man, probs jobless, just a man and a laptop. He's probs on online dating sites aswell. Just Feel sorry for him
Excellent post mate.Nice to see proper measured analysis. How do you see it going with Ricky fully fit? I have to admit,I've followed Ricky for seven years now and I'm wondering if it might be time to accept the journey is winding down.I don't see him doing much at 140 but the only thing I'd say about your post is that I think another long rest is the last thing Ricky needs. People seem to forget he's got a big court case coming up as well, and I think he needs to be fighting,as the last lay off and out of the ring worries seem to have caused chaos. This injury and the layoff that goes with it is the last thing he needs IMO. If Ricky can come back and show that Saturday was an abberation, there's not much more he needs to prove in my eyes.I remember it wasn't that long ago that he was third or fourth on fairly small bills. What he's done since then has been remarkable and there's no shame in him having reached his summit now.
I see the sweaty socks are still trying to cover ass... 1 round in it. :rofl They all come out of the woodwork didn't they once Billy started to get ripped to fvck. It was actually inspirational to see all these clowns sticking together and practically bullshitting themselves into thinking that Burns won 6 rounds. :rofl It was like a modern day braveheart but instead of him getting tortured to fvck at the end he ran off crying like a big fvcking baby. Brought a tear to me eye it did. :hi:
Maybe so but spending your life on internet forums simply isn't cool. Social outcasts spend their life on forums, loners, people with no friends. It's how they let of steam by talking to a screen. For me to spend anytime on a forum in my spare time it would have to take something major. It's simply because i have a life.
Same here but so what? Rather have a few geeks here than numerous sh1t threads started by trolls as well as celebrating the fact hardly anyone in the actual boxing game gets involved anymore.
Some of it is quite funny though, people take alot of it too seriously i feel. I spoke to Billy on the phone on Sunday when he was on the way to see Ricky, he was very honest about the fight and how it went and i said you best get on esb and answer your critics. He laughed and said you know me pal, i've got big shoulders i can take it, and he can take it. But the abuse he got on this matter was over the top really, it was continuous so i just reckon he thought, fvck this, i don't need it, enough is enough. He could have quite easily never come on again after rickys fight but the fact he did shows he can take it aswell as give it.
Hang on, aren't you the classless cretin who was goading Derry Matthews on this forum only a couple of months ago? Shouting your mouth off until Arnie Farnell put you back in your place? I'm no friend of PityTheFool - I think he has historically tended to overrate Ricky somewhat, (and understandably so), but I think it highly amusing that the likes of yourself have decided to round on him when he is rightly taking a couple of the resident ****wits to task.
This Ricky Burns thing HAS brought people out the woodwork no doubt,i am one of them..... Of course he is not the best LW in the world and if we are honest he is a good domestic and solid European LW but nevertheless he IS a world champion ... World championship belts are not exclusive to the best 1 or 2 fighters in the world at 1 particular time ,there are a lot of variables that go into getting a belt ,more so these days but the hate on here for a limited fighter like Burns who has achieved more in 1 fight than most will in a lifetime is absurd... Give the lad his his due and no doubt he will be back at domestic level pretty soon and remember he wasnt judging the Beltran fight ,crazy as the result was its not his,his trainers or British boxings fault!!
